Those that have been down and those that are going down is the old saying. That being the case, as bad as this was, it most obviously could have been a whole lot worse. Sorry to see the bike beat up and you as well. Glad you're ok and the bike is on the mend. You need to make a claim for whatever other loss you suffered as well against the young lady's insurance. You shouldn't get stuck with the $500 deductible. Did you lose any gear ( boots, pants, gloves, chaps, jacket etc.) I'm sure you've got your medical bills going to them. Did you miss any work. A whole lot of issues. My advice is to avail yourself of an attorney for at least the first consultation. 99% do the first one free. Lay it out to him/her and see what they say they think the total value of the claim is. Hope the leg mends quickly and your Blue Jester is ready and waiting when your leg is healed.

No, Elvis is an 03 Golden SERK, named Elvis by my best friend and brother Screamin_Beagle (Matt) since it's gold and over the top. Bunch of pics of it over in the ride section under nice ride. The Orange Road Glide is mine too. Mentioned it since it seems you might be thinking about one. You won't regret it.

So glad that you are ok, this could have been so much worse. The damage to the bike can be fixed and the leg will mend in time. I'm not big on lawyers but this is a time when it may be a good thing to consult one so you be sure that you have ALL of your losses covered.

Well............... This past Thursday afternoon I left from a gas station after just filling up.

Rob, since this happened on Thursday you really need to have a talk with Spider.  On the prior Tuesday, right here in the tombstone/destruction/dented-fender section of the board he wrote this:

The last new incident under this board was a post from... 8/23. That's two months ago.

He jinxed you Rob.  Plain and simple.  You had a hex on you and it came from Maine!






Also, and fare more importantly, glad you're ok.  Said it before and will say it again; you're fine, you pretty much walked away, hell; the bike ain't even all that bad.  All that being so, the rest is just parts and don't matter at all.

Rob, glad you were able to keep your head and the bike upright.  You opened that car up like a can opener.  Good thing it tore away so easily or the result may not have been this good.

Speedy recovery on the leg.

Let us know how the list comes out at the dealer, that is going to be some serious money.

From the looks of your pics and the color of her car explains it all! She obviously looked in her mirror and thought the blue object in her mirror was part of her car. If she was driving a red car she would have seen ya! [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

Pray that your leg mends quickly and your scooter too! Good luck on the RG! It really changed my mind seeing Brians Los Dragon and Otis's in MV. They are sweet!
