Well, every year a group from the Victoria area (HOG members) make a run to Winthrop over the North Cascades Highway in Washington, Hwy 20.
This is such a good ride that they do it annually in the spring. This is also the ride we are looking to make with some of the members on the way to Nelson.
So I was in contact with CVOMOE since he shipped an old 40' Ford Pick up Sturgis model bank to me for safe keeping and when the group was headed down CVOMOE and BT PM'd me to meet them.
I hooked up with them a Skagit Harley where the group literally couldn't wait to hit the Screamin' Eagle stuff and buy, buy, buy. In Canada Harley does not have the rights to the Screamin' Eagle logo so the Canadians have to buy it down here.
Here's a pic with the members that were on the ride.

Here's the entire group form the north. Once they all got through the border, Saturday morning it took around an hour or so and then only because they went to duty free which allows you to cut the line with purchase
-
So after an hour or so of shopping and shooting the chit, they headed off for Winthrop. The rains had subsided by then and everyone had a chance to buy what they forgot and dry out a bit. There ride will take them to Winthrop tonight and then Osoyoos tomorrow night and I believe some may be headed for Nelson before they go for home.
Christine explaining where rain comes from to Harleybee, I think.

Great photos Rjob!!

Head 'em up, head 'em out

Group is itchin' to depart, Christine, what the heck? Coffee, let's go.................
-
BT and Harleybee103 decide it was a good idea, regardless of the weather......................
-
Can we ever go anywhere without a little repair? The RG had a fuse issue and loss of headlight. No worries, slam another fuse in the ol' girl and worry about it when we get home.

Great photos Rjob!!
Thanks HB, it was fun to meet up with the group. I didn't get to ride with them as I was heading north (if the weather would have been better I may have) but all in all, I surprised them showing up on my bike and not in a cage. They were expecting a cage, so that was fun.
No way I could meet up with a member from the site that was riding without being on my ride too. That would be sacreligious or something. It sure as heck wouldn't be what we're all about here.
I am sure their ride will be great and can't wait to meet up again with more folks from here even if I have to wait until we're on the way to Nelson in July. :2vrolijk_21:

I agree Gary, I was getting reacquainted with BT and Chris from the Nelson pre-run and meeting Moe and HB103 for the first time.
If anyone is ever in the area, please, please, please let me know so we can hook up and meet. Hopefully get some riding in as well. I would have gone with these guy but the road they were on goes straight east and only over the pass, there aren't any cut-offs to anywhere really. It would have been an out and back and in the rain and in such a large group I didn't see much to gain on this day.
All great folks and ready for a great weekend I am sure.

Hey RJOB.....good pics. Looks like a great group having a good ride (I hate riding in the rain....nothing fun about it in my book, just a necessary aggrevation in a otherwise great way to travel) I'm like D00d also.....great to put faces w/ names. thanks for posting 'em. :2vrolijk_21: har! :huepfenlol2: spyder

Glad I could do it.
It looks like they won't have rain all weekend, with temps in the low 60's during the day. They are in high desert for awhile and then in the mountains as well.

Thanks for the pics :2vrolijk_21:

Jacques, I doubt it, they are still riding and most likely in the rain on and off.
I washed my bike later yesterday and dropped it off at the shop to have them swap 12" Progressive 440's for the proper 13" ones and install a few other odds and ends including an Adjure front flush mount axle.
No doubt the bikes will get a good cleaning when they get home, of that I am sure. :2vrolijk_21:

Anytime friends can get together especially for a ride it has to be a good time :bananarock:

Thanks for the pics, Roger...great group of folks out there too, it appears. Only a month and you'll be in Nelson with them and a bunch of other great people!
-
Roger,
Great to meet you on Saturday. We had a great ride through the mountains and for the most part the weather cooperated. We landed back in Victoria on Monday, though Blair and Christine (BT and Starbuck) continued on to Nelson to check on a few things for the upcoming rally. Great photos, thanks again.

Hey Brian, glad to hear your ride went well. Looked like a good group and glad the weather was ok.

Roger, it was great seeing you again. You should have come for the ride up to the top as the sun was out up there.
Here is a pic at Diablo Lake.
See you in seven weeks in Nelson.

Take care and ride safe,
