Anyone want to guess?
« on: July 01, 2010, 10:21:51 PM »

Not sure if this is where this should be posted, I apologize if it should be somewhere else. Anyways...
I finally got the welder working again this evening, so I started on this project. Anyone know what this is going to be?

I've got a couple other projects to build this weekend, now that I fixed my welder. :2vrolijk_21:

That's a good one. I saw those for the first time, the other day in Home Depot. Overpriced crap.

It's going to be a tourpak wall-rack, for when the pak's not on the bike. I'll add soem hooks for hanging helmets and paint it tomorrow. I'm also going too build a rack for storing the saddlebags, when I'm washing the bike. I'm going to build it so the bags can be turned around on the rack, so it's easier to wash them too. And of course, it's all going to be painted orange. :2vrolijk_21:

Got it finished today.

This should be done tomorrow. Adding a couple neat features to it too.

It's nice to be blessed with fabrication skills. It has saved me a ton of money in the past. Very nice work and a great idea. Great job!  :2vrolijk_21:

Project Lowbuck. Rattle can = $3. Powder Coat = lots more than $3
Every dollar saved, is another dollar for the bike. 8)

Finished the saddlebag rack yesterday.

Most of them I've seen, you can only put the bags on with the latches facing out. I made mine so you can use it for more than just a storage rack. I can position the bags on the rack, so that I can wash both the front and backside. I built it so that it can accomodate standard bags, HD SESG bags(like mine!) and most stretched bags. I added the casters so it's easier to move it around while you wash/wax the bags. I added the clear tubing on the support bars to protect the paint on the bags. I went online this morning and ordered some little black square plugs for the ends of the tubes, to give it a more "finished" look.
