Kolekole Pass Fallen Warrior Ride
« on: March 09, 2009, 06:23:20 PM »

Sunday brought us a memorial/fundraiser ride for fallen soldiers of the Stryker Brigade at Schofied Barracks. The goal is the raise $45K for a memorial to commemorate the soldiers of this unit. This ride allowed civilians and non-DoD personnel to participate as long as they met gear and ID requirements. The start of the run took us through military property to an area known as "Kolekole Pass". This is a road that is rarely open, as it passes through a Naval munitions storage area on the other side of the mountain.

All bikes invited... Sport, Tourers, Cruisers, etc... was a great mix of people and personalities.

I even saw Hawaiianbear and his O/B SERG...

Sorry I missed it... sounds like a great cause and a chance to check out a lot of bikes.

20 MPH faster would have been AWESOME... but because it was a military installation, speed limits had to be obeyed.

We didnt want to jeapordize future events for this group.
