Title: Passing lamps on a 2015 CVO Street Glide
Post by: TXCobra on September 01, 2015, 06:40:11 PM
Does anyone know which kit I need from Harley to add the passing lamps?  Part number 67800367 doesn't say it works on the CVO, but I am not sure if there's anything different between the CVO and regular glide for these lights.  Appreciate any help or experience anyone can share.  I know some guys have gone with Kuryakyn or others, but I was thinking with sticking with HD parts and using the daymaker bulbs to match.

That's the kit....just did them. Pull the lower fairing cap/switch cover and install and plug in the new switch and then remove old directionals and follow the directions to wire the new passing lamps/directionals into the existing plug. No need to even remove the outer fairing!!! The worse part is aiming and tightening the lights since you need the split socket so you don't tear the wire.

Great thanks. Did you do day makers too?  This is An expensive add but more light is needed!  Looks like a little over $700 from surdyke for all of it

Have you looked at the Dynamic Ringz from Custom Dynamics?

Not good for lighting up the road...but are great for being seen.

Yes and I have them in the turn signals that I took off of my '14 SGS.  I got the ones that have the white ring normally and then the amber turn signal when you hit the turn signals.  Love them. They match the day maker pretty well, not perfectly.  I just want the extra light for night riding on top of all of that.  Love your bike btw, I would have bought that color if they hadn't stopped making them.

I've been looking at doing the same thing but using Newcastle Harley my list includes the Black day maker headlight:

      68000173

$314.56
      67800366

$338.16
      67700242

$407.25

I checked there price vs. Surdyke and they seem more reasonable...

Interesting. Do you know if they charge shipping?  I'm assuming No tax from either since I'm in Texas.

Be sure to check out the Kuryakan passing lamps.  I installed them on my wife's Road King. Good quality and looking lights.

Do the bulbs on these match the daymaker intensity and color well?

I checked out the online site for NewCastle, they charge about $50 in shipping but it still comes out to only $702 vs $749 at Surdyke (that does offer free shipping).  Thanks for the tip!!

These were listed yesterday on HD forums if your interested? Doesn't mention if they are new or used?

Try BoardTracker Harley   http://www.boardtrackerharleyonline.com/  (old Kutter Harley)
Prices may be a few dollars more but free shipping on 100.00 or more..
I buy all my parts from there and Anthony is very helpful as well, if you dont see a part, call him and he will ad it online

Thanks Joe, really close to NewCastle prices overall.  So far, this is what I have (part numbers 67800367, hardware and 68000172 bulbs the smoked version should be same price):

(not including Tax, which you wouldn't pay unless you get them at your local dealer or live in the same state as any of these online dealers)
MSRP:   $829.90
Surdyke: $749.22 (no shipping)
NewCastle: $652.72 (includes $49.95 in shipping)
BoardTracker: 688.00  (no shipping)

New Castle looks like the best deal so far.  Thanks for all the input folks.  This is making the $900 price tag (local dealer at msrp plus tax) much easier to swallow at closer to $650

For me they seem to do the job.

I would think that HD LED passing lamps might illuminate better just do to the fact the there is more surface area.... :nixweiss:

I am thinking about putting a set of black Kury's on my street glide...I like the slimmer look of them over the HD.

If you do decide to add the passing lamp...Give Rebecca a call at Tri-County Harley-Davidson in Fairfield OH

She gives 20% off list and I believe on both HD or Kury

Check your numbers I still show BoardTracker cheaper.  When I looked it up at New Castle your number does not reflect shipping.. And if I were you I would jump on the link last posted. 600.00 takes it, unless you want new.  I will share there was an update to the Daymaker 4" units, mine were replaced with the newer version.

My mistake Joe, the New Castle number was indeed not including shipping, making BoardTracker Harley the best deal.  So here are the new numbers:

(part numbers 67800367, hardware and 68000172 bulbs the smoked version should be same price):

(not including Tax, which you wouldn't pay unless you get them at your local dealer or live in the same state as any of these online dealers)
MSRP:   $829.90
Surdyke: $749.22 (no shipping)
NewCastle: $702.67 (includes $49.95 in shipping)
BoardTracker: 688.00  (no shipping)

All of this good info led me to a local dealer who had them in stock and sold them to me for $700 out the door, tax included.  $12 more than board tracker and $100 more than the used set, but I really wanted to install them for the weekend and I wanted new.  Thanks all for the great info, saved me a couple hundred bucks!

One more question for those of you that have done this, is there a hi-beam bypass harness that allows these to stay on?  A quick search on Kuryakyn's site and HD's said no cable for a '15 CVO SG or even a '15 SG.

EDIT: I just remembered, it's a programming thing...dang, an unavoidable trip to the dealer!

Correct...BCM needs to be told you have spotlights and that you want them on with the high beams. I'm going to the dealer today. and yes...it sucks having to go back for that. But you also get an indicator on the dash that the lights are on too---at least that is what I was told.

Well got the passing lamps and the LED Electra glow saddle bag lights installed last night. I'd say she lights up pretty well from both directions. Not hard at all but as mjb765 mentioned, that deep split socket is a must. Will try to post some pics later

Now get to the dealer and they need to program the bcm so that the lights stay on with the high beams and the dash indicator in the tach works.

Yes that's next. Really looking forward to that!  Did you follow that insane adjustment procedure in the instructions or just eyeball it?

I took em off my trade in and put em on my 15 CVO. Lots of deer and live stock round here in the early mornings. I need the extra light.
