Heavy breather elite on a 2013 CVO King?
« on: August 23, 2017, 07:00:43 AM »

The Harley website only has the Elite Heavy Breather listed for some Softtails, and 14-16 touring. I know this breather comes stock on the 2014 CVO King, but if lowers were removed, would this work on a 2013 King? I didn't know if the mounting to the throttle body changed in 2014 and would not work even with my lowers off. Thank you!

with older heavy breather (2014 ones are not the same) you could have shorter filter which will work with lower fairings.

hope this help

Thank you! I have considered those, but love the looks of the elite model, and thinking about removing lowers to get more airflow to the heads.

even though using lowers feels warmer to the rider, there is actually more air being directed to the engine.

i missed my fairing lowers...

They were great for the look, rain, the look, wind, the look, bugs, the look, speakers. Did i said that i love the look of fairing lowers on Road Kings?

Interesting to know! And I've decided the lowers/radio are a big part of the identity to that bike, they are staying on.

I've found a few bikes with my similar upcoming build with the same breather and it doesn't look like it's going to be a big choke point. I'll stick with the agitator.

With the agitator you will loose 3 hp and 4 torque to the heavy breather.  That said chose to keep lowers and adjustor even after I saw the difference..

I'm a performance guy and hate leaving anything on the table. However losing my radio AND spending 400 more bucks on 3 HP just isn't worth it. If my bike even comes close to what yours does I'll be a happy camper, Dave!

I'm a performance guy too.  I chose to keep the music, over the 3 HP, cause music is why I bought this king in the first place.
