2007 SERK - fuel indicator problem.
« on: August 03, 2011, 01:15:25 PM »

Has anybody experienced this?

Some of the LED lights on the (left side tank) fuel level indicator have stopped working. Fortunately it seems to be the ones towards the tank 'full' end of the spectrum rather than the tank 'empty'.

They have been working fine and stopped on the recent trip to Morzine. It is true to say that we had weather (torrential rain and low cloud) the likes of which I have never witnessed before - so don't know if that could have been a factor?

I am not an electrician but would be interested to know if anybody else has had this problem and, if so, what they did to fix it.

Thanks in advance - Magellan  :coolblue:

I have this same issue.  Not as lucky as you though... the second light from the left (i.e. closest to the "Empty" light) is the one that is giving me pain.  The odd thing is that periodically it'll come back on for a while then eventually go off again.  I posted here when it first happened to get suggestions and pretty much all responses were that I was S.O.L.

For the cost I just decided to live with it but it's been a while so I too am interested to see if anyone has any "magic" to fix it without replacement.

As I said I am not an electrician - but my understanding is that LED's are supposed to last quite some time, so they shouldn't go (or burn) out. But is seems your problem may be intermittent.  :nixweiss:
At the moment mine seems permanent!

I am going to raise it with my Stealer just to see what they say....LOL!
