Noisy 4th & 5th gear
« on: December 17, 2006, 10:31:03 AM »

I have a buddy with a 2007 Flhrsei3.  He reports very loud noises around the primary in 4th or 5th gear.  Anyone else have this problem?  What is the fix?

No problems first 1000 miles except the LED gas gauge has a mind of its own!

Most people complain about noisy 1st and 5th.  They use most of the same gears.  My dealer said that HD recommends using the conventional Formula + instead of SYN3 in the tranny if the customer complains.  I notice the 1st gear more than 5th.

Based upon the many complaints on the 1 and 5 gear noise, I am aware of 5 07's that have been switched to Redline Heavy Shockproof and have had the opportunity of riding 3 of those.
