What is the story? I paid for it two months ago. Is it the paint issues??? Wow I'm going to miss three big rides... :confused5: Wow 5 months since I paid for it.
-
Are the 2016s going to beat out the 2015s????
-
SNAP!!! that svx, has your dealer tried to find/trade for one?? if you have paid up all ready, think i would put a lill pressure on them to make it happen. thats just me & i have problems with immediate gratification tho :nixweiss:
-
Be thankful for small mercies. Mine was delivered early and the bleary-eyed jizzwhistles on QC were mentally absent when my bike was checked before leaving the factory. I actually have a human thumb print on my batwing that has been clear-coated over. Amongst other paint issues.
Yours may well be delayed so the dozey twats at Gunslinger can actually paint the thing properly.
:soapbox:
-
Im curious, why did you pay for it before delivery?

Ya that's about right. Mine took almost 6 months before I seen it but I did not pay in full until I seen it.

Me too, as I believe that practice would be considered illegal in some states? :nixweiss:
-
Its not illegal to have someone prepay (Not sure why anyone would though) but it is against GAAP to recognize the revenue until the product is delivered.

I put a deposit down on a hard candy mercury on 9/29, estimated arrival is April. The dealer had a Yellow CVO SG come in first which sold immediately. They ordered a black one right before I left my deposit on the hard candy which hasn't arrived yet. They tried to swap the black one they have coming in for a hard candy but couldn't find any takers as most of the hard candy's had deposits down on them or the dealer's didn't want to trade for another black.
-
Let me clarify the questions. I paid 5K deposit the first of December and I sold my 2014 SGS two weeks later myself. We did the financing through my local dealer so I would get the tax savings on the total deal. State taxes in my are state are if you do a trade in you only pay the taxes on the difference between the two items so it's over a thousand bucks. Soooo I have almost thirty thousand on my new CVO that I won't see until May now. First Feb. then April and now May. I hope it'll be perfect. I already bought the King tour pak and spoiler and they arrived in less than two weeks.... ???? I inspected the paint and it looks great. I talked to the dealer yesterday and he doesn't have any rental bikes for me but he made it right for me. He said that he would let me use his demo for my rides.... for FREE. WOW! He made my day. I'll just keep drooling over the pics of other bikes on this website... Have a great SUPER BOWL Day everyone.

Im not sure what's going on with production, but I've had 2 people ask me if I'd sell mine for $40,000, they were both customers of the dealer I bought mine from. I told them both no....but the more I think about it....
I don't remember the last time there was such a "want to have" kind of frenzy for a HD product.
-
Check out this asking price..... :huepfenjump3:

I would in a heartbeat. Anyone want a yellow/black for $40K
-
That is a bummer! I put a deposit on mine the day after they were released on August 26th and it didn't arrive until the first week of December.

Mine only has 1 mile on it. I bought it, and they trailered it to my Parents house for storage. I highly doubt anyone would actually give me $40k for it. But then again....everything is for sale.
$40k is what you'd pay at MSRP anyways.

Exact same thing on my new FLTRUSE. Deposit on Tues after the dealer's meeting. Arrived Dec 2 and took delivery Dec 4th.
-
Got mine in December as well. Just had a guy from the dealership I bought it at who was looking for a hard candy offer me $40 K mine, it has 42 miles on it. Rode it home from dealership, thats it I guess these bikes are in big demand. Delaership has a CVO limited on floor for 3 weeks now, but no CVO streetglides
-
So it finally arrived today and guess what??? Looked like someone had hit the side of the batwing on another bike next to it... So another couple of weeks waiting for a new batwing.......
-
I am sorry for those who have had issues with delivery and paint. But I find it rather ironic that I have a perfect hard candy bike, totally stock with less than 1200 breakin miles on the clocks with first fluid change already done for 35.5K and have not had an offer on the bike....hmmm. Guess if someone wanted a bike so badly it would have already been in another garage. Just saying.....spook

You have the best color for sure ;D I think those with paint issues are few and far between compared to the number sold. My thinking, for what its worth, is the price is holding up your sale. With the cost of the bike being what it is, saving $1000 give or take would not do it for me. I would always choose new. Then you have the resale issue, as with cars, people buying used prefer "One owner" whoever buys your bike if they do sell, now its a 2 owner vehicle.
Best of luck with the sale... it is an awesome bike!

Tri-County Harley Davidson just got a Hard Candy in today. No one has a deposit on it as of this afternoon. If interested call 513-874-4343 and ask for Lori.

mine has 65 miles. I might be tempted!

Send them my way! Spook

I'd sell mine for $44K

35.5k come and get it!

I'd sell mine for $44K
really :nixweiss: are you running an HD dealership

I had a guy offer me $40k and I said no, but then I thought about it and if I had the chance again, I'd sell it. I saw the guy on my dealers Facebook page...I guess he ordered one after I said no and he picked it up the other day.

Well the only reason I can imagine those of you are considering selling your bike is you have not had the opportunity yet to ride it enough to appreciate it! I have close to 4K miles on mine and would not sell it period, much less for $45K. I paid MSRP with reduced dealer prep and ship fees, but added Plus five years warranty, Yaffe bars, heated grips and highway pegs. With tax my deal was $45k. Since then I added the corbin seat, backrest, docking hardware and rider backrest, rinehart muffs, fullsac dx pipe and TTS, stealth license plate frame, and Custom Dynamics LED front turns.
I love this bike and plan on many more miles to come! Get some more miles in and you might change your mind. JMHO
-
I guess everything is for sale if the price is right. But I love my 2015 CVO Street Glide and not planning on selling it anytime soon.
-
5 LONG months............
-
3k miles since January in Iowa...Not for sale!
-
after ridin mine a couple hundred miles its not for sale!!
-
I think I'd still sell it for $40k with the mods....I have just over 100 miles on it. I'd really have to think about it though! There is another bike I'd rather own....I thinks this is the best all around bike ever....looks, comfort, features and performance!
-
5 LONG months............
Has the dealer given you an estimate on a delivery date?
-
Came 2.5 weeks ago and one side of the batwing was damaged.... so waiting for a new batwing that was supposed to be rushed in one week...... so I can't even drive the bike that's sitting at the dealership.
-
When I bought my CVO Breakout, the tank had an issue and they over nighted a new tank! You'll be good to go soon!

Put it on eBay there is a 15 cvo street glide with 6 miles going for 40k right now.
-
Up to 42k now. I bought mine to ride not cut a profit
-
I have been riding CVO's since 1999 and I like this bike so much I have a second one just like it coming in! The ride, the sound and for sure the paint brings it all together.... I am buying another one because I don't feel that Harley will, in the near future do paint like this again, been a bad experience for them. I will ride both, keep the best and trade the other in on a 2016 CVO Streetglide... I think this paint will hold a good trade in

I agree. With the 13 and 14 CVO Breakout and the 15 CVO Street Glide....I believe that Harley peaked in the complicated paint processes and they will be going back to more subtle paint like the 2015.5 CVO Street Glide. I just can't imagine how Harley doesn't have an entire custom paint shop.....its not like they don't charge enough to make a big profit on EVERYTHING they make to where they can't do what Gunslinger did for them in house with strict QC!

That's because you spend all your time polishing yours in the garage Bill.
For everyone else, It's my Hard Candy for sale on EBay. I bought the bike because it's the first Harley paint that's got me excited since the Kryptonite Green 2011 CVO street glide (my last street glide). I sold that bike after 18 months with 350 miles on it. They unloaded this bike and I said "yeah that's nice, just put it over in the corner and cover it and make sure the battery charger is plugged in. That was two weeks ago, I've started it once since then and put it through a heat cycle. I realized that Harleys just don't do it for me. I have a custom pro street style bike with a 124 S&S that I ride around town and I have a 50 degree rake full custom rigid 300 rear tire chopper, also with a124 S&S that I ride so little im about to drain the fluids and put the damn thing on pedastal like a piece of art in my man cave. Bm0958 can vouch for me that im not greedy, don't need the money, hell I could let it sit and let the tires rot off of it and it wouldn't affect me, but I figured there are guys out there who really want this color scheme that would enjoy owning it and riding it a heck of a lot more than I would so I'm gonna part ways with it. Wouldn't have bought it but I got caught up in that "they're hard to get mentality, better take one while you can" so I did. Coulda been a coincidence that I had just left the Mecum car auction where I watched a car that was the exact same year and model that I owned up until about 6 years ago when I traded it in for 120K sell for almost 400K. So maybe I just had a weak moment. Anyway. Hope somebody who loves the bike and loves the color ends up with it.
-
I guess I had better put my bike out in the world if it is to sell. I take delivery of my jeep today. Took the CVO out for a short jaunt yesterday and yes it is a great bike, but truthfully I enjoy my BMW GSA more....just a totally different riding experience. Anyway, the bike is still for sale with my price WAY less than the one on ebay. Go figure.
-
Well, the weirdo on eBay joined eBay two days ago, started asking a bunch of questions, bought the bike, sent me an email this afternoon that he couldn't buy the motorcycle because it "will cost me 16K dollars to move it into my name". i guess the fact he joined eBay May 6th and had never bid on anything before shoulda tipped me off. So, I've got to second place and had another gent contact me this afternoon.
-
If someone wants the Hc mercury but it is not available, id offer to trade tins...buy the black carbon crystal we will meet up at a dealer and have them swap your carbon for my mercury.
Gas tank, fenders, lowers, front and rear fairing.
I like the chrome look so I wouldn't trade crash bars, rockers, derby, etc....just the painted parts.
-
Space Coast Harley in Palm Bay Florida just got in a HC if anyone is interested. Selling at MSRP per salesman JP.
-
I stopped by Ocean County Harley in Lakewood NJ today, they have a Hardcandy on the floor waiting for someone to buy her. Asking MSRP for the bike
-
seems as the HC's are sitting in dealers as 2 local dealers here also have them on the floor .... :nixweiss:

Riverside HD (CA) has two Hard Candy's, one Ultraviolet Blue and one Starfire Black that have been sitting on their floor for a few months. Their allotment of Carbon Crystals were all sold before they arrived at the dealer (same for Pomona Valley and Quaid Loma Linda).
-
People want what they don't have, once it's available they want something else.

Hmmmm, maybe the original colors weren't right for the folks now buying the Carbon Crystal bikes? That was the case for me. Although I really liked the original colors they weren't right for me. The Carbon Crystal was right for me, but it doesn't appeal to others. Fence sitters, like me, were pulled into the market with this different look.
If I'm not mistaken, ZVO, you were seeking a Carbon Crystal owner willing to swap tins with your Hard Candy. Are you one of those people you mention above?

The Hard Candy paint concept is a throwback to the classic bikes/choppers from the '60's and '70's. That's my era, so that color has a fond place in my heart. I hope you're able to get the colors you want!

I love the way the Hard Candy really pops in the sunlight. I also like a bike that gets noticed... most importantly by me! But you have to go with what you like. My dealer, High Octane Harley, in Mass has 2 Carbon's on the floor and 2 Hard Candy's that just came in last Thursday. The carbons just blend in with all the other black bikes while the Hard Candy shines. But what do I know as black is the most popular color. If you see them side by side you may keep your HC. Good luck whatever you end up with!

That's the same thing I thought when I saw the Carbon inside the showroom, it seemed like a super shinny black paint. Then I asked them to roll it outside...WOW...that metallic and those phantom flames jumped at me! And, outside is where you ride, right?
-
I'd be all over the carbon black....IF, the engine and covers were chrome....not black.
-
I wouldn't have bought it if those covers were old school. To each his own...

I have seen them inside and out.... but whatever your happy with is what matters. The phantom does look nice in the sun but cannot compare to the HC in the sun... Just my opinion. Actually all the colors look much better in the sun... The yellow is the only color I have yet to see in person.

Those Carbon's must have sold fast! My buddy is hunting for one, so he called High Octane (Chelmsford Rd) based on your post. They have Scorching Yellow, Starfire Black, Ultraviolet, and Hard Candy. No Carbon's available. If you see one at another dealer please PM me. Thnx!

Not sure who your buddy spoke with but there are no yellow, ultraviolet or starfire black. They have HC's and Carbons still available. Tell him to ask for Steve -- tell him Dean referred him.
Good luck!

Three Hard Candy colors for 2016! One is Gold , one is Black with different color flakes and I think the other one is Blue. Just saying.

Had it six weeks and the speakers blew out yesterday..... dangit!
-
I turn my radio/ipod to 11 all the time and haven't had any problems with speakers. I took a 300 plus mile ride this past weekend and never had the radio less than full blast, hope I'm not running it to hard and end up with blown speakers too.
Sorry to here about your speakers problems…
-
Had it six weeks and the speakers blew out yesterday..... dangit!
I blew mine out also warranty converted it but now they don't sound the same
-
Blew out my left speaker 2 months ago and my right speaker last week.
Left replaced under warranty; will have to await arrival of the right to be delivered, then an appointment to replace it.
Since blowing the left, I kept my volume 2 bars from max--still blew out a speaker.
Using IPOD for music.
-
I was using iPod for music also when they blew out...directly wired. And the iPod was at full volume.
-
Think I'll be backing it down 2 notches…
-
Blew them out again, the front speakers second time replacing. :nixweiss:

I tossed in the towel and moved to a non CVO Limited since MOCO has 0
Down, 0.99% (CVO not eligible) thru July for high tier credit. I wanted to love my CVO, but for the price, it wasn't worth it (after the fact) to me on the 2015 model.I know some will disagree w/me. I've owned 3 Streetglides.
I didn't have any paint issues on my CVO, but multiple issues with stereo (multiple blown speakers), less cargo space for travel due to position of radio harnesses in the bags, small nusances w/fork lock and accessory switch erasing my trips. Also 5 second pauses on occasion w/amps, etc.
One of the 3 major selling points is Paint, Stereo, and Engine. Some other minor issues, but felt an extra $13K vs a non CVO Streetglide Special was not worth it (lesson learned). By the way, the dealer currently has 3 CVOs in stock.
I feel better on the Limited--garner extra space w/tourpak and inside saddlebags(no harnesses in the way), heated grips, higher seating position (I'm taller), more comfort for the passenger, stereo still sounds good, etc.
I owned my Streetglide for almost a year. I could have sold it outright to someone perhaps, but in my state you get tax savings on trade, so no tax on my buy and a credit for balance.
If you are happy with your decision, I am happy for you. For those not so happy--look at your option w/this current offer---I wouldn't have traded down if this wasn't available.
I could have added tour pak like some have done, but that's another 2k or so--backrest another $400 or so---heated grips another $400 or so etc..... I may revisit a future year model if some issues are addressed. As you can see, for me, it was cheaper to go to a non CVO Limited.
