Here is a video after the install of the Freedom Shields 7" dark gray shield and the J&M Amp and Speaker.

I walked about 100' away from the bike so you could get a feel of the amount of quality volume.  This set up is heads and tails above the stock setup.

The Freedom Shield works perfect.  Cut the buffeting significantly.  I am 5'10" and I can see perfectly over the 7" shield.

The install is pretty straight forward, the instructions are good.  The biggest bitch were the two allen head bolts holding the radio in.

Just take your time... it is well worth it.

BTW... when you remove your take, take note of the routing of the left side tank vent hose... I can't figure out if I put it back correctly.

Thanks!

Getting the paper backing off the insulating foam was tricky too. Found if you sliced it in the center it made it easier to remove from the adhesive?

Love them great setup  :2vrolijk_21:

Ordered.  Cannot wait.  There's few systems over here that rock such as yours.

Cool... expensive, but well.. well worth it.

let me know if you have questions on the install.. there are a few tricky points I can help with.  (like read the instructions through and through again... you'll see what I mean when it comes time to reinstall the fairing brackets under the speakers.  :nervous:

I am waiting on a matching King Tour Pak with speaker pods... I will ditch the stock speakers and probably add another set of J&Ms... unless I can make the set of Boston Acoustic Pro 6.5's with separate tweets I have laying around work?!  (although they have huge crossover boxes that are bit of a pain.)

Oh yea... when you pull your tank.. note the routing of the tank vent tubes... there is a left and right... I still need to verify I have the left one positioned correctly on re-install.

Routing the wire from the fairing under the tank. open up the end of the harness cover in the fairing lift the tank and from the fairing side insert a wire coat hanger through the loom its just the right length. Pull the pins from the connector and tape to the hanger and it'll slide right through with a little wiggling.

I've got the J&M 7.25" speakers with an Arc amp (Arc makes the J&M amp, J&M tunes them, and applies a sticker).

I'm also running an Alipine HU with full iPod integration.

Honestly, this set up is beyond what I ever expected a bike could sound like.  At highway speeds (75MPH speed limit in CO), these speakers are not only hear-able, but CRYSTAL CLEAR.

You really can't go wrong with the J&M products.  If you order, I recommend using Dr V-Twin.  Those guys take customer service to the highest level.
