On the 2018 CVO Limited, regarding the windsplitter windshield, is anyone having an issue with a distortion across the entire windshield at the point where the curve reverses itself? The distortion is approximately 1 1/2" below the top in the windshield across the full width. When you look through it it actually bends the lines in the road. It's very noticeable and "uncomfortable" to say the least. My eyes take a second to refocus and that is not preferable while on 2 wheels. Thanks.

My personal preference is this product instead of the HD Windsplitter.

Agree that it's uncomfortable. Unfortunately, that's typical in areas where the bending is extreme. The material on the inside of the curve is compressed, while the outside material is stretched, making the light and view distort as it passes through.
The specific windshield material also affects the distortion. In general, the distortion is not as bad on windshields that don't have to reverse the curvature over a short distance. So a taller shield or less bend would help.

I noticed the same thing on one at the dealership. I had a friend that really liked the way the small wings on the sides cut down on air turbulence. So was I was thinking about ordering the windshield, until I sat on the bike and looked through it. I just didn't think I could handle looking through it.

As William Wallace said with his last breath... "F R E E D O M"

if you have the right size shield on you should be looking over the shield .... not thru it, of coarse there will be situations that you may have to look thru it :nixweiss:

I have the standard windshield from the 2017, and a windsplitter from a 2014, then purchased an 8 and 13" Klock Werks (one too low, one too high). Clearview arriving today and it's supposed to be 1.25" higher than stock. The hammock seat on the CVO's is almost an inch taller than an Ultra, otherwise the windsplitter would have been fine. Hoping this is the answer.

All Harley windshields are sadly distorted. Like others have stated, buy a quality windshield in a Clearview or Freedom. Windshield is first thing that comes off bike and one of the mentioned put on. Good luck.

Sad but true in my experience. Never ran a stock HD windshield on any bike more than the time it took to find a suitable non HD replacement.

Clearview, but mostly because of the specific size versus the other brands.

I have the Windspilter on the bike and know what your describing but I do look over the top unless there is a high bug count in the air before me.
My original OE shield developed a crack above the mounting screw area after a high wind blast from behind me, so the dealer warrantied it into the Windsplitter and I paid nothing for it.
I had one on my 2013 Ultra and was happy with what it does, and with this one on the 2015 being free, well if it's free , it's for me
