I am really starting to like my new HID headlamp.
I think I finally have it adjusted just right and seems like I am riding under a full moon
Everyone, OK most that have rode with me at night makes a comment about the light like:
"Wow that light is sure white"
"I will follow you as you have a great headlight"

To top it off today i received in the US Mail a note from my HD dealer that they issued me a $100 credit. Note reads:

" I just wanted to let you know that I have creditied your account for $100 towards labor for the HID headlamp kit you had installed. We have just learned more information regarding a labor promotion that Harley-Davidson is doing and the kit we installed was an eligible part number. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at ...-.... and thank you for your business."

Sincerely

...............

Gawd I love deals, hmmm what should I do with the C-Note?   any ideas?

Harley HID Headlight Review and Photos

In one or two other threads I'd mentioned I'd be getting the H-D High Intensity Discharge headlamp installed during my 10,000 mile service.

This one is with the headlight and spots on in the daylight.  You can see the yellow color of the spots in comparison to the headlight in this photo . . .

This one is with a flash.  Again, just pointing out the color difference . . .

This is a photo of the pattern of the low-beam only (no spots).

This one is of the hi-beam pattern.  Note the yellow color of the hi-beam which is not HID and the pattern which is focused in the center and not very wide like the low beam . . .

Finally, this one is of the low-beam and spots.  With the way I have my spots aimed, this is the way the light really works the best . . .

Thanks for the great review of the new HID headlight, Brian.  You really ought to write for Car & Driver or HOTBIKE or one of those rags that have the roadtests/reviews.  Very through.....the bottom line was when you said it just didn't 'knock your socks off' as you'd hoped it would.  That's a lot of jingle for anything less than a great improvement, but I guess they can't put aircraft landing lights on the public highways, huh?    :-/  spyder
