I just got word of approval to replace my 3rd set of wheels and floorboard inserts. This time HD made the dealer take pictures (a 100 mile trip for me to the dealer) and send them in. Guess they won't take our word for it. It took 2 months to get approval

That's what I got from them as well, and like you im not going to just lay down and get walked on if mine start doing it again. You would have thought that HD would have already gotten this issue resolved with the manufactor and had a recall to all CVO owner to replace there componants will non peelable parts. It's not our fault that there parts are not satisfactory, or our desire to have to out of our way for them to give us what should be already installed, and then to have us wait! WTF is that.

You know it's a shame that it might have to come to this, but this is the reason there are so many "class action" lawsuits happening these days. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

The problem could be that the replacement parts are coming from the same batch that the originals are from.

I would suspect that the MoCo does a run for the CVO bikes and with it an estimated stock for warranty.  It won't do anyone any good if this is the case as they won't have addressed anything.  The reason they continue to replace with a known bad part is simply to reduce stock and get the write off rather than simply disposing of inventory and taking a smaller write off.

Well, I just noticed my mirror heads and arms are starting to shot the tell tale start of peeling, I guess I'll be testing those waters again to see if what was told to me will hold up. [smiley=nixweiss.gif] I'll let you know how it goes.

One more banana with peeling and blistering chrome.  HD is replacing both wheels and all the floor boards.

Bill,
That sucks, and then the other doesnt. Glad to hear your getting yours replaced. I hope this set last for you. Try dressing them with chrome sealer, to try to keep them sealed as much as possible from brake dust and road film. Hopefully they will last longer this time for you.

Picked up my banana in May 05 and currently have 2400 miles on her.  Last week, took her to the dealer to have them warranty the 2 wheels, 3 of 4 floorboards, primary and derby cover for pitting chrome.

I'm in the no peel catagory on the 05 SEEG.  I remember the bike took 6.5 months to be delivered.  The reason they gave about this time last year was that the bike had to be return to the chrome shop for rework.  Apparently they had a lot of trouble with earlier work.  Seems like from the threads here, that they may have been telling the truth for once.
