Here's another way to get more red in the rear without drilling holes: http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/gma_product.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524442081077&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302514675&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374302514675&bmUID=1162697802238&bmLocale=en_US

There is a disclaimer about meeting DOT standards on a SEEG.  Not sure what that's about other than maybe they're too close together on account of our custom turn signal bar.  Nevertheless, 07hd110 (Tommy) had this on his '07 SEUC in MV and it really added a noticeable amount of light to the back of his scoot. If you are referring to the Dyna....well that "mini-bike" can whoop a lot of a$$ even with a girl on it...I was behind it in MV05 and can attest to that fact, that girl can ride!

Chip, are your spoilers wired as turn signals also?

Cool!

Since I have the Panacea Turn Signals i was thinking about wiring the saddlebag spoilers into them so they could do the same thing...a winter project probably...

Don, the kit comes with the red lenses, though, which is what's confusing to me.

Jerry, you da man - thanks for confirming!  I figured it was something like that.  I'm gonna do this conversion anyway, and chance that the Barney Fife's of the world just aren't that "up" on the DOT standards.

I think it's less somewhat less of an issue on the back of the bike, anyway.  On-coming traffic needs to be able to discern where I'm going from a good distance for sure, but from behind I'll take the trade-off of the additional red running lights and brake lights for marginally less obvious turn signals.

Brian,

That is exactly the reason - with red t/signals located too close to the brake light, they become less obvious when in the t/signal mode.

I agree Brian, I think it's a fair trade-off to get more light on the rear.

Funny you would say an alternative would be the Panacea setup. I have looked thru all the documentation in the Panacea stuff I have for both my bikes and although there is no discaimer of the lights not being dot complient I dont see anywhere on the lights the dot word. In my experience I seem to remember seeing any dot compient light having the words dot, but on my tail and turn signals I dont remember seeing this. This has always bugged me, hope I'm wrong.......Straighten me out Jerry!

......Roy
Roy,

This is one of the many things about Federal motor vehicle standards that is rather peculiar.
