Stock Pipes
« on: November 03, 2011, 08:58:35 PM »

After 20,000 miles I have grown weary of my V&H Big Shots.  Folks won't ride with me unless I am behind them.  I installed the Quite Baffles and the pipes are still too loud.  I want to go back to the stock pipes.  Other than going to the dealer and getting a quote for the parts and labor, is there anywhere on the web that I can find what came with the bike?  I got the bike of the original owner after he had upgraded the Air Filter, pipes, and installed a ThunderMax.

You probably don't need all the parts listed, since I assume many of the brackets and fasteners were reused, but this site will give you a complete listing of all the parts that comprise the exhaust system for a 2007 FXDSE.  Ignore the parts that are identified as HDI, those are for export models.

To get a list of actual part numbers, scroll down the listing and put in how many you would need of each part.  Once you've selected all the parts you want part numbers for, click on the button that says send to parts list, then the button that says send to cart, and you will get a list that includes actual H-D part numbers.

You might try asking local dealers if they have any takeoff parts, or possibly search ebay for takeoffs.  If you still have contact info for the original owner, see if he kept the takeoff parts.  I know some of us still have parts stuck away in basements or garages from bikes we haven't owned for years (I promise I'll clean that stuff out of the basement in the spring dear).

I have a set of SE 2 mufflers for a Dyna. I had them on my 08 FXDSE2. They have a nice mellow tone and still have good power.

GRC,

Thanks!  That was exactly what I was looking for.  What a great resource!

If anyone has any of the parts listed for this stock exhaust system, please post what you have like Wicked110 did.  I am interested.

I also have the complete head pipes heat sheilds and mounting hardware off my 2002 wg. You would have to get the O2 bungs welded on.
