Title: 2021 131 - Headpipe options
Post by: benmay94 on September 27, 2021, 02:53:33 PM
I have a 2021 CVO Road Glide with a 131, and currently am running the factory included CAT headpipe.  I've already used Fullsac CVO 2.25 cores in the pipes so I'm looking to keep those.  I'm curious on the best headpipe option to get, as I feel this engine will extremely wake up with a de-cat headpipe and good dyno tune.  I'm currently looking at:

Fullsac MX
Fuelmoto Jackpot
Bassani (doesn't seem to include crossunder pipe)
Kromewerks (doesn't seem to include crossunder pipe)
V&H Power Duals

Anyone have any reviews on these with a 131, or any additional options I should consider?

I used the Fullsac full exhaust on mine after deciding on my goals.
I used a dyno tuner that is very familiar with the sum of my parts, my riding style, and my expectations.
Very happy with the outcome.

Remember, your factory warranty may be voided using the parts in your list, and/or the tuner you use.
Key is following the advice of a builder who has experience in selecting the right combination of parts to reach your goal. Ask yourself do you want a bar-hopper or long ranger tourer or something in between?
Be realistic.

Thanks for the feedback.

I got the kit installed within 30 days of purchasing the bike, so I've everything covered under the factory warranty but I also have a non-Harley extended warranty that will cover when I decide to do this.  I'm still deciding when I will actually pull the trigger.

As far as the tuner question - both TTS and Dynojet Power Vision have tuners and tunes available...well Power Vision is Oct 1st.  I currently own a PV so I'll probably get a new license and buy the new cable.  As far as TTS, it uses the exact same cable as the Harley tuner (I've done that a few times previously).

May I ask which non-Harley extended warranty you have? I passed on the HD warranty and am searching for something better. Thanks

Currently I have a generic powersports one, but I've used Discount ESP in the past with great results.

Anyone buying an extended warranty or the Harley one needs to thoroughly read it and get a in writing assurance it covers modifications.
This removing the cat or using ANY aftermarket tuner is very frowned on today and will become more of a problem in the upcoming years. The warranty company can be held liable if they authorize repairs to a modified bike or car just like the shop who did the work. I know of no car extended warranties that will cover if you remove the cat or use a Aftermarket tuner on a car. The car warranties have become so much more important with the newer 8 and 10 speed trans costing close to $5000 to replace not counting the remainder of the vehicle. And if the shop doing the repairs gets caught, they are really in trouble. For example check online for information on the fine imposed on PFI Speed for just online selling A/M tuners.
