In reading about new tariffs for Chinese made tires, I was not aware of the size of the problem. The only tires I see from China are low priced motorcycle tires in the JP Catalog.
What common tire brands are being made in China?

This is not a politaical discussion one way or another.

Most of the U.S. tire industry has fore-gone production of third-tier tires in the U.S. and has concentrated on production of the higher-profit tires. These same companies started importing third-tier tires and selling them under their own labels or as exclusive brands.
Bridgestone-Firestone imports third-tier tires manufactured in China under the brand “Primewell,” and it sells them through its network.
Goodyear supplies third-tier tires to Wal-Mart under the “Douglas” label. These tires are manufactured in Venezuela and Poland.
Michelin's third-tier brand,Riken is manufactured in Indonesia.
Good-Year about 2% made in China and Cooper about 15% made in China.
