Chip
You must be back in good standing with the HBRR.
I know their moto is " V-Rods don't count "

I guess the MOCO had to something with the V rod. The only ones really sellring were the SE's. Now you go and look at them selling on line and the bottom fell out of the prices.
It actually doesn't look that bad. I like the look from the rear!!!!!!!!!

The reason for the mirror pointing forward, is that to show people coming head-on that they are going to crash?
-
Good catch...the bike just got out of the box...
-
My local dealer just got 3 in. 2 black and 1 in sliver. I actually test rode one. They are quick out of the box. The book says over 120 hp and the TQ was in the upper 80's
But it is still just a "V" rod!!!!!

I guy I work with just ordered one. He should take delivery late OCT/early NOV. Still not too sure how I feel about V-Rods in general. They look cool, I guess, but I still prefer my SERK.

The dual exhaust is odd looking. Makes me think of the Sportster Cafe Racer

If I bought one the first thing to go would be the pipes. I like the tail light and the fat tire.

Was at the dealership on Friday and they had a silver Muscle on the floor. Had the salesman start it up, and you're right DC, those pipes would have to go! They really make the bike sound anemic. Very quiet and "Goldwing-like". (Not that there's anything wrong with Goldwings.)

My DX sounded weak with the stupid stock thermos jug they hang off of them.
The cure was easy - black pc Thunderheader. The thing's a beast now.
I really like V-rod's but I don't care much for the "Muscle" from what I've seen in pics at least. Figured I'd hold out final judgment til I see one in person. Agreed that the exhaust is the strangest design feature. Again, nothing at TH setup wouldn't cure.
I like certain features but I don't think the bike works overall. Those odd things hanging off the airbox cover are probably the worst.

The bike really looks good in person. A Thunder Header would really wake it up though. There are a few other things I might do if I owned one.

I'm not a big V-Rod fan either, but I think the MoCo did a good job with the "Muscle". I do like the looks of it and the fat azz-end on that bike with the LED tail light strips on it, looks really mean.

I think they did a good job on this scoot...
I really like the tail light.... I might look for one like that to fit my springer
-
I like more the model....the dealers are giving a poster with her and the bike......
-
Thanks for the great pics !! I would have really looked good on one of those about 20 years ago. HaHa

Nice machine, but.......it is still a waterhead.

Thanks Jock nice pics. I don't mean to open a can of worms here, but man you guys sure are tough. Reminds me of the days when we segregated all the bikes. Remember: You can't ride with me ... "It's only a rice rocket", "Not with a Sportster", "Electric start is for sissys". Look at the amenities we use now
Seems to me we have all ridden something else at one time. I thought the Vrod was the first Harley that could burn up a tire (without holding brake) and pull up the front end the MOCO produced. We all liked the idea the MOCO finally was thinking about something to hang with the rice rockets.
Even after buying the top SE's and investing untold thousands in motor work the "Rice Rockets" are still faster out of the box. I don't have a vrod and I can't seem to fall in love with it either. However, I do love it for its reason. I have seen some real fine examples too after some mods.

Had the opportunity to burn off some break-in miles with a buddy who just bought one of these things. I'm not sure I like the exhaust arrangement. Looks "metric." Other than the exhaust, that is one fine lookin' machine.........and very wicked fast!
-
<<<<Looks "metric.">>>>
It is "metric"....
But at least half my tools would not be useless if I bought one.... ;)
-
Road with my buddy the other day and I have to say, I'm not that impressed with the Muscle. I did a double-take a couple of times at stop lights cause I thought a sport bike had pulled up next to me by the engine noise, but nope, it was just him.
Doesn't sound at all like a Harley.

Yes it is. And fast out of the box. I could not believe how fast that bike was. With a little fuel injection management and change the A/C and put a Thunder Header on it. It would then be a dangerous weapon!

almost bought one...
So what held you back?
