Here is one of the comments from the article. It is tragically funny.

Jeezus... "We aren't selling any, what to do? I know, let's charge more money."

They are already listed on Harley's website under Road Glide Special. Both of those two tones are an extra $2400.00.

The tone deafness of MoCo management is baffling.

Just another example of why Harley is in trouble. Their bikes are too expensive now for what you get. I don’t plan to every buy another new H-D. I will just keep what I have.

it's amazing how much we consider idiots ...... last year I wrote here and in other forums very angry because in Italy it was not possible to have a Road Glide CVO like the one in the photo below, in Italy there were many ready to shell out 43,000 euros for this beautiful bike, but they laughed at us ... now these motherf$%*ers think that just changing the color of a normal Road Glide to satisfy all the requests of last year ... ???

I interpret that as $2,400 extra, meaning on top of whatever is factored into MSRP for a "standard" paint scheme.

While they do look good, there is no metal flake so minor scratches will show easily.  They do look good, and 2400 for paint and RDS is a very good deal.  30K, much more affordable then a CVO.

Seems to me its a pretty blatant copy of the 2019 CVO Road Glides with very minor changes.  Not at all happy about that being I own a 19.  That said if I was in the market this year, the blue one with a 131 kit would be 5K less then the CVO and just as eye catching as the CVO.

I really like the red paint scheme... I already have blue in my Mako shark... If I was in the market right now, I would do exactly like Dave stated..

Nah, the 19 CVO's are still much nicer than these and definitely the best looking CVO's for some time!

I don't think the 20.5 CVO comes close to the 2019s - far too boring....

That's the new plan....play build a CVO!  You buy a "Special" and add a 131ci kit (dealer gets labor), then you add controls, bars etc and you think your saving money but you actually spent CVO money but got more motor and your own bars!  Everyone happy and HD doesn't have to lower the CVO price!

Well, I add bars to every bike CVO or not, as I like 14" bars.  I add hwy pegs to every bike as I ride 24K miles a year.

So a 42K CVO plus bars and pegs I am in it for 43K, or if they do labor 44K.

30K Road Glide special, with new bike sale 131 kit and winter labor deal, I am at 37K plus the same bars and pegs.

So I do save money and have a much more powerful bike, and a paint job that has more to look at than a CVO.

With the black out treatment, I do not get more chrome with a CVO, in fact now with no XM, no chrome, and plain paint I do not get much at all for CVO money.

I myself change bars and exhaust on ever bike I have owned in the 43 years of riding. My 12 CVO RG has a much more cooler look then my 18 does and like must that will be my last CVO bike.
