If any kind soul who owns both a Road Tech Garmin 660 or 665 and an oscilloscope, I wonder if they could do me a favour?

As you will know, the RT660 and 665 send a tone before and after audio output (while the plain Garmin models don't) so that Harley's NIM knows to interrupt any other audio source.  I need to know the details of the tones, in order to try having an interface made for 2014 models that will allow the use of a non-RT GPS which interrupts other audio sources.

Any volunteers?  :drink: :drink: :drink:

Both before the announcement and after, please Joe - in case the tone after is different from the tone before.

I was goign to do this today before I go on my trip to the Alps.  Anyhow, I need ot put this on the back burner as I do not have the proper connector for the headphone jack.  That was the first time I ever took that cover off and I just assumed it was a standard headphone jack.  Turns out it is a bit larger - odd

No, it is just a standard 2.5mm stereo jack, Joe.  Definitely NOT non standard....

Your correct, the headset I had laying around that I was going to cut up was non-standard.
Let me see!

I ran out of talent on this.

I checked the audio out jack and saw no tone and/or signal as a precursor.  I also checked the pins on the back, but they must need the cradle hooked up to see something on them???

Thanks Joe - I guess you're right, and it must only be sent via the audio out line on the cradle harness, which is where I thought you'd be measuring it - see photo. That's where the NIM connects.  I forgot there's a connector under that little rubber cover.
