FM Modulator
« on: August 28, 2005, 07:51:09 AM »

Has anyone tried an FM modulator on their MP3 player vs the aux plug? Someone said this may help with the MP3 player gain ( or lack of ) issue.

I have an Apple iPod, and have used the iTrip and Monster both FM Modulating Units. The best I have found is simply to use a 3.5 mm patch cord found at any electronics shop and merely go from the iPod directly into the Aux Port of the Radio.

On the iPod you can set max volume control off it and from then use your volume controls on the handle bar. Also you can set Bass and Treble from the handlebars controls.

Someone mentioned with the FM Modulators you get loe Fi where is a direct link is more Hi Fi. I also have a set of Hog Tune Speakers.

Do you have the HD MP3? If so there is a switch inside the player that dramatically increases the gain so it will match much better (still no perfect) to the HD radio.

Let me know and I will post or email instructions
