What will this new EPA rule mean to me?

If you are going to buy a new motorcycle at your local dealer, the only things you may notice are that by the 2006 model year, most motorcycles will come with fuel injection and will require special diagnostic tools for service work. Some may have catalytic converters in the exhaust pipes. Both are in use in some models already. There has been no change to the

I hate to say it but if our founding fathers of this great nation could see the government regualtions today, they would turn over in their graves.

Do not get me wrong, regulations have their place.  But is it necessary that we regulate EVERYTHING?

There ae various sources on this material.
You can access some of them online through MRF, MSF, ABATE and by searching EPA regulations motorcycles and EPAregulations prosed motorcycles.

I read the article someplace, recently, but can't remember where.  Not sure why MFG didn't tell you where the article came from.  I'll check through some magazines when I get home.  Seems like it might have been Motorcycle Consumer News or American Rider Magazine.

As you read the federation papers or any basis of the constitution, the framers never intented upon our laws to read in such a way described in the orginial thread.

The purpose of government was not designed as it to structured today.  

However that is a discussion for another thread...

Do not misunderstand my statement, the EPA has a position within our government.  None the less, let's be sensible in the process.

My understanding is that the 2006 regs will mean that you will only get a EFI bike from HD no more carbs.

When I was looking at new bikes I made choice to find a low mileage carb bike that wouldn't have to bow to the EPA gods so much. Luckily I found my FXDWG3 with only 4400 miles .  And hopefully they won't mandate any retroactive changes .. so far anyway
