2009 Frozen Cajones Ride
« on: January 11, 2010, 11:47:16 PM »

Each year my friends and I go on what we call "The Frozen Cajones Ride". We ride year round and this is sort of our "Polar Bear Ride".  This year's ride was our third year in a row. We started from the Bay Area on December 27th and returned home on December 30th.  We did 1700 miles in 4 days.  This year we stayed in Yucca Vally, CA, Laughlin, NV and Las Vegas, NV.  The lowest temperature we encountered was 30 deg. going over the pass into Baker, CA. and luckily, we never had to ride thru any rain this year.

This is a picture of the Integratron near Yucca Valley.  Aliens told the owner to build this building. Here is the website  http://www.integratron.com/2History/History.html

The next day was a stop at the Salton Sea.  Here is an abandoned merry go round and swing set.

The next stop was near Niland, CA.  This is Salvation Mountain.  The builder, Leonard Knight has been there 20 years building and painting.

We also toured the Valley of Fire State Park.  I don't have any pictures as it was late in the day but the only time we saw any sun on this trip was when we were entered the park and it was gorgeous!  It rivaled anything I have seen in Utah or Arizona.  If you are in the Las Vegas area, I highly recommend visiting the Valley of Fire State Park.

Sounds fun.  Not very cold this year for ya, but fun I'm sure.  Heck, any time a group of friends hit the road, it's a good time.

Thanx for sharing the pictures. We're all snowed in, so no riding this year so far.

Ride safely,
