So with a cam it's pretty close to stock well tuned 110 and the 114 is about the same as a 117 twin cam. Not bad, but not earth shattering at all.
-
Wow those motors really wake up with some cams. Can't wait to get my hands on a stage two M8

Factor in that it made 1HP per cube with a stock Cat headpipe and its quite impressive.
I don't know what this combo of emissions legal parts make with the Harley download, but with
the TTS tuner it runs really good. So in theory, Harley installs your Fed legal and under warranty stage III kit.
You go home, bolt on a DX Pipe and retune with TTS. If an issue arises, bolt the stock headpipe back on and flash it back to the emissions legal cal and your ready for inspection.
Hmm, Maybe the world isn't going to end? Lol..... :bananarock: :orange:

I was told at a dealership that if the Cat was removed or emission system altered the newly HD factory emission light on the dash would stay on and a code would register. Any word on this?

Do you have the exhaust system ready to go for the 114?

And a tune?

M8 headpipes, mufflers and TTS tunes are all coming. I have many different configurations to test through before
anything gets finalized. There is no release date on the header.
M8 CVO baffles will be available as as soon as someone sends me a set of mufflers to get specs from.
Free to the first person!

How is the Sound so far from the new M8? Wondering if they will sound as good or deep as the Twin Cam. Thanks

The motor itself is way quieter, far less mechanical noise. Low end TQ is amazing, the dyno numbers don't tell the story.
As for sound, the stock cat headpipe is also a huge muffler. I opened up the stock mufflers and barley got any more sound.
Zero power gain as well, also an indicator that the cat is holding us back. I did remove the stock AC and seen the usual 4 HP gain.
The real Harley Rumble is in there, but its going to require more than a pair of slips on to get any real sound out of it.

2.25 inlet's there, Steve ?

Kinda appears the crossover pipe is just for looks :nixweiss:

Even bigger! 2.5". This was done to dissipate heat from the cat with the increased area. But just inside the muffler there is a 1.75 ID restrictor to help balance it out left to right. The crossover is a work of art. Useless for power, but an absolute marvel of pressure formed stainless.

Steve, I will be reaching out to you tomorrow as I am very close to pulling the trigger on a 17 CVO street glide with a 117 kit. Want to discuss options with you..

How long until you have a catless head pipe Steve?

Testing through a few different combinations and power levels, don't want to leave anything on the table.
Just bolting a small cam in these M8s is an instant 20 HP. Everybody and there brother will be making over 1 HP per cube with these motors overnight.
We are working on it! :2vrolijk_21:

I'm needing a head pipe and baffles for a 17 CVO street glide. Interesting on the improvement from just a cam.
Was impressed with the 107 stage one I took a test ride on.

The 2017 CVO baffles should be available with in two weeks. We have a set of mufflers on there way in to get specs from.
No release date on the headpipe. We are working on it!

From what I understand from the exhaust designers the left side has an important roll in getting the exhaust gasses out.
Since the infamous "y-pipe" the purpose of the left side is simply to increase available volume for upper rpm operation.
As exhaust gets backed up from restriction on the right side exhaust can and does travel to the other side to relieve the pressure.
Works very well because the system is a true 2into1into2 that offers additional volume after the collector...more than a true 2into1 design.

I going to check that theory with my engineer.

More dealership BS. Let's look at it. What sensor or anything else that would tell if cat is gone? O2's are in front of the cat and there isn't an after cat sensor. The MAP sensor can and does show a clogged cat but I doubt it is going to show the bit of restriction that the cat does cause compared to it being removed. Fear is big business.
