Title: dropped the bike
Post by: 08glide on April 08, 2018, 11:17:36 AM
well, like most everyone here, thought I'd never be posting like this, under these conditions. was supposed to be instructing a RLP course on Apr 7 with a small group of about 10. went out with a friend & girlfriend & my wife to set up the course & do some practice runs.( Easter Sun) this was to be my last formal class.while going thru the offset barrel weave(which was running uphill ) I was leaning down hill & obviously disengaged the clutch. the bike went down & i thought it was complete (probably more in a hurry to get it up) bike rolled onto left leg, taking me down with the bike on top of my leg.broke the fibia (fibula) had surgery Fri with screws, plate & rope. now in a boot & crutches, knee scooter for 8-10 weeks. go figure. instructor isn't supposed to drop his bike. glad I wasn't practicing alone & wasn't in front of a whole class.

Hate you collected the injury in the process.  Drops happen.  Don't sweat it.  Heal fast.

It's not if but when.  We all have or will drop one.

I haven't dropped one (in 2018).  Yet.

Feel better.

But how’s the Bike?   :nixweiss:
Seriously though sorry to hear about the leg, hope it heals quickly.
I was out running the SJPD course on my ST1300P when the front wheel slid out on a cone. The rear crash bar pinned my foot to the ground after dragging me a few feet, almost broke a leg.
Get better soon

Thanks for posting been spreading the word around with the brothers and prayers lifted to the Master for you. I'm not sure but maybe the pain meds were helping with the post. Because when I first read it it sounded like you and the wife and the girlfriend were there setting up the course. That would have been fun to watch, because I know your bride! LOL. See you soon.

thanks guys. bike is fine. bent the clutch lever about 1" in from the end, scratch on the hwy peg about half the size of a dime & tore the rubber on the heated grip control (which wasn't working anyway. waiting til fall to replace or fix). no paint damage. can't wait to see everyone agan at a GTG & swap lies (or jus big tales)

RIDE SAFE !    BE CAREFUL !!!         :orange:
