Yes, I've ordered Jacques. That price includes shipping to my friend in Chicago - he mails things on to me.

Another option from Kuryakyn... Mount to the gas filler lid.

http://www.kuryakyn.com/ Navigate to the Harley section and then search for item 1465 or 1466.

Similar to how I've got mine, George.  I have the clamp a little further down the bars, as on the curve, mine wasn't that good a fit.

I was a little disappointed by the quality of the mount.  When it arrived, the rear (that is the visible part) of the top plate had two very obvious deep scratches in the chrome. I opened the package myself, so I know they were there on arrival, and as the worst runs under the ball socket, plainly the scratches (deep enough to catch with your finger nail!) were there BEFORE assembly!  Also, while there were indeed three allen wrenches in the packet, they comprised one 5/32", and TWO 3/16" - there was no 1/8".  That in itself is not a problem - I have plenty Allen wrenches, but coupled with the scratches in the chrome, it heightens my disappointment at what I expected to be a perfect, quality product.

I emailed techmount to tell them about this - politely - and they didn't bother to reply....  Speaks volumes about them I think.

And now, having sent a reminder email, they've responded, offering to send me a replacement top plate.  :2vrolijk_21:

Which arrived today from the US, very promptly, along with a free-of-charge 1¼" chrome clamp for my forthcoming bar change.

I have no hesitation in highly commending Techmount's products and service!   :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:

Just to throw another kink in this discussion, Powerlet Products offers a power outlet that clamps to the bars and uses the post and top plate from techmount.  Comes in black or chrome.  Just got throug putting this on my bike and it works out well.

Yea, yea...I know.  ::) I'll snap a couple of photos if it'll ever stop raining here long enough for me to get it out in the daylight so I won't have to flash it with the camera.  The Powerlet products are really nice though.  I think Don is using some of their stuff to power up a couple of things on his bike.  They make various power supply points, and quite a few ways to mount them at various places on most kinds of bikes.  It's good stuff, particularly if you don't have a cigarette lighter on the bike....gives you more options of how/where to put power supplies.  Very good alternative if you don't own a bike with a batwing.

I just installed a new mount on my Zumo today that is designed to work with the RAM Mounts (that I already have) and I am very satisfied with the quality and fit of the product. I bought 2 of them from a company off ebay for $35.00 each plus $6.00 shipping, 1 for the SERG and 1 for the Road King. I ordered the product on 05/18 received the shipment 05/22 so the turn around time was very good, it shipped from Minneapolis, MN and I am in Oregon. Here's a link for the mount: http://stores.shop.ebay.com/Motorcycle-GPS-mounts__W0QQ_armrsZ1
