velcro attached amps
« on: June 30, 2013, 02:08:53 PM »

I probably am not the first person to think of this but it is a good tip and I think worth re posting if it has already been here.
Also this probably only applies to Road Glides or anywhere there is a tight fit with an amp that is held in place by velcro.

On mine I placed the amp between the inner fairing and the glove box , very tight , so how do you get it in there without the velcro sticking to each other while trying to shove it up into place?
I located the amp first and marked the inner side of the fairing with a pencil.
Then I cleaned the area of course and attached one side of the velcro to the inner fairing.
Attach the other side of the velcro to the back of the amp.
Take a piece of paper , (copy paper or such) and hold it against the velcro side of the amp, slide it up into the place its going , position it , then slide the piece of paper out from between the two pieces of velcro and there it is, stuck in place.
