instument lighting on 2020 cvo ltd
« on: October 01, 2020, 10:28:41 AM »

Hi

I have a new 2020 storm grey CVO ltd. I find the gauge dials very dark and difficult to read during the day. Is there any easy way of setting the instrument light to be set to always on to assist? Mine currently only come on as the skies darken. I guess there must be some auto light sensor somewhere?

Cheers

I too find the speedometer difficult to read in the day light. I do not have a solution either. Not to hijack your thread but just asking if you see all the moisture or oil drips on the inside of the speedometer and tach gauge's glass during certain lighting conditions, such as mid to late afternoon with the sun coming from over your shoulder? I have a 2019 FLHSXE with about 10,000 kms (6,000 miles) on her, and it appeared early on. It's really bothersome under those light conditions and I'm sure it affects clarity at other times as well, just not as obvious. I haven't taken this up with the dealer as a warranty issue yet, due to the the research I've done on this site indicating that a replacement gauge cluster will just do the same thing. I see on the parts lists that that the Speedometer/Tach Gauge Cluster now has a '-B' version. I just don't know when that came into effect and if I already have that gauge cluster from the factory in my August 2019 build?

Only thing I can think of is to find the sensor and cover it somehow. Not sure where it's at.

Sent from my boring Droid phone.

I believe the photo sensor is on the tach gauge face behind the glass, just above the ABS light. That's on my 2019 FLHSXE.

I have trouble seeing speed. I bring up the speed on the Boom so I can see it.
