Chrome Flaking on Rear Wheel
« on: April 23, 2008, 01:03:32 PM »

Has anyone seen any chrome flaking on the rear wheel?  Seeing a little on the rim below the valve stem.  I think I saw a post on the VRSCE site that people were seeing it there.

front wheel on my fxstsse is flaking  in 2 areas, mind u the dealer had my pride n joy parked outside in the open winter air, albeit covered by a roof for 3weeks while they repaired the leaky bits, i noticed the wheel chrome fault as i gave the bike a good clean after i got it home, took it back to the dealer the following weekend to show them, they tried to blame me but will make a warrenty report to moco.

My rear wheel is flaking.  You can see it's bubbling up from under the crome, not rotting through the top.  So my dealer thinks it will be covered.  Should hear next week. If not, I will become a huge PIA until it get's taken care of.

Still waiting on official word.  The MoCo rep has seen it and doesn't seem to think it's going to be a problem.  I'd like a quicker answer but I'm not gonna start screamin until they say no or sit on it too long.
