Mine is at the dealer now, took it in Tuesday and still not back yet. I'm going to call them Mon.  Let you know how it runs when I get it back. Update, still don't have my bike back yet. They put it back together and had trouble with the ACR.  Sent back to Harley. Harley says it needs a new head now. Maybe get it back next week, got my book and letter also.

Well I picked mine up yesterday  ;D  Sounds a little differant than it did? ( Don't know why just differant) I was looking closely at the bike when I picked her up and everything looked OK. The dealer cleaned the hell out of it. Nice and shiny... :2vrolijk_21: No more oil marks from where it started to seep at the bottom of the cylinders. Rode around for a little while then went home and looked at it in the garage a little more while sucking on a Beer  :drink:  Decided to take her to work today to get some miles on her, eventhough their calling for rain later this afternoon. Ran great all the way in just like normal.  I got off the bike at work and noticed the seep was back at the bottom of the cylinders  :nixweiss:
Cleaned them off and I'll see what they look like when I get home tonight  :nervous:

Has your leak returned? I have not yet developed one at 8,500 miles and decided to put off the update till next year if it doesn't leak...

Are you going to insist on a different repair strategy? Seems to me they should be replacing the jugs as well as the rings. There are some threads in the twin cam site that mention what should be done...best of luck to you!

Going to get the upgrade done soon. Would like to add some more go-go. With doing some porting and polishing what cams would be a good choice and should anything else be done while it is apart?

head porting is a good idea...I like t-man 525 or wood 408-44 cams in a 110"...also have the builder check the deck height...there are reports of pistons being .009" down the hole...the cylinders can be shortened to correct this...also it helps performance if you use .030" head gaskets

With all the feedback I have been getting on the "upgrade repair", it seems best to have the jugs replaced with Axtell (replace rings too)...the warranty will cover the labor, and the cost of the jugs is minimal in comparison to going to the dealer every time these poorly designed jugs cause engine leakage. Cam change over would be a good thing to do as well for upping the hp and torque...many to choose from, get the recommendation from whoever your builder or mechanic is. May not be a bad idea to upgrade the oil pump and shim plate while it is in...

I haven't had any problems with my bike (knock on wood) so I am holding off doing the repair.  The letter says we have 2 years to do it. I am torn between doing it over the winter months and the 'if it isn't broken don't fix it' thought.  I'm just hoping that I don't start leaking in the middle of riding season next year.  So far I have 25,000 km's on it and the bike is running great?

Just learned yesterday that the axtell jugs are cast iron...if you go with a jug replacement to help fix this problem (which is the real cure) go with S&S jugs...JMHO

Don't know where you heard that from. :nixweiss:

Axtell makes both! I have the standard barrels on my bike, not CI! Also, not sure S&S makes 4" barrels and pistons either. They don't make 4" stroker pistons, that much I know. Couldn't use a 1/2" or 5/8" leg when I did my motor without replacing my Axtell Barrels again. Be careful about what you read on the internet gang! ;)

OK...so I just bought my new FXDSE2 at the stealership the 8th of Oct. Nobody mentioned any recall or program on the bike. (Mfg date 3/08) Aren't they liable to disclose this??

Checked my Vin and got this     (0906: PRD PGM:07/08 CVO 110 GASKETS) Is it gaskets only still for FXD's and heads in other programs.........lol.....can you tell I'm confused here???

Can you give me advice on the best way to approach this?   It's my first new bike ever and the last bike I road 21yrs ago was a panhead so I have been out of the lifestyle for awhile all help appreciated!!!!

Thanks
Tim

Has anyone had to have the new Rocker Box installed or your old rocker box clearanced?   Some people are saying these can be noisy.
