For those who like Brit bikes and cars
« on: June 09, 2005, 05:08:55 PM »

Just got this link forwarded in an email.  Too funny not to share.  Someone is having a bit of fun on eBay.  For those with that unfortunate love/hate relationship for old Brit hardware you'll soooo understand  [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

Two,

Do you have one of those unfortunate love/hate relationships for old Brit hardware?
This is great!! I'm going to pass this along to a friend who sells British car parts wholesale. I just wonder if it is an old "inside joke" that only British car enthusiast would be familiar with. [smiley=beerchug.gif]

I used to Rhino, I used to.  Was a sad time requiring years of electrical and mechanical therapy before I was finally cured  [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

Two,

Did you read the Q & A, they are a riot, this must be a very old joke for as many posts as there are added to the sale page.
I printed them out to read them when I get home from work ...15 pages...this is great.....it doesn't take mush to amuse me......

I did Rhino.  But I'm glad you mentioned it because when I looked at it the list wasn't that long.  Need to go back and look again  [smiley=1syellow1.gif]

Hey TRG,
Unfortunately, some of us are sadly aware that this is not really a funny joke...  just a sad factual reminiscence on the suffering that we have been through...  and some of us are still going through with various toys and endeavors [smiley=shocked2.gif]...

Ok, this is worth a poll (like having had Brit hardware is the same as getting poled over and over and over again).  See above  [smiley=beerchug.gif]

Coolbreeze,

I guess I've been missing out all these years, I wanted to buy a Spitfire when I got out of High School. Probably good advise, but for another reason, my Dad talked me in to a full size car….. in case I'd ever want to tow a boat or something. Ended up buying a ‘75 Monte Carlo, ....and a boat the next year.

               And I've never looked back.

Dad's are awful smart that way...   My dad talked me into a '49 Ford truck which I rebuilt, frame-off, back to the street and drove for another 10 years before I sold it.  Unfortunately, I talked myself into a Truimph TR-3 as soon as the truck was on the street, and three years later, I still couldn't keep it on the street for more than 20 miles.  What a lesson that thing was!
