I gave up drinking and riding many years ago. Seems foolish to me to mix the two in the same building not to mention liability if some gets drunk and crashes.

Really? The JD bikes and the Jim Beam themed bikes have been sought after whenever they have been produced or put up for sale.  HD roots were always with the beer drinking working man not the skinny-soy-skim-kale-vegan-latte sipping hipsters their current marketing strategies appeal to. Long term they lose because those folks are just going through a phase. My humble opinion. Rant over.

I gave up drinking 29 years ago.......but I still ride!  :P

I think MT makes a valid point, also.

We are all adults - well, I guess it depends on who you ask... HA!  However, have any of you been to the Harley Museum?  There's a restaurant on-premise, and they serve alcohol. There's a dealership in Rockford, IL that has a restaurant/bar connected to it.  There are hundreds of bar/pubs that do 'Bike Night' around the mid-west....

People are going to get drunk and drive - regardless of where they are drinking, as long as the checks and balances are in place, it's not a liability for the company. (Or no tavern would exist)

I see all these posts about "Woah, HD is in the crapper, their stock went down" - it's market trends, EVERYONE'S stock goes up and down.  There's a lot of complaining on here about HD for supposedly being a 'Brand Loyal' site.  How hard is it to just enjoy our favorite pastime, share our experiences (good or bad), and stop b*tching about our 1st-World problems of having issues with our "$50k Toy".

Motorcity Harley Davidson is one of my Local dealerships. Here in Michigan it has generated a lot of interest and it's coming off as being a good thing. The only bench marks I can compare it to is OCC that opened the Bar/restaurant that went under and Strokers Dallas which I believe to be pretty successful. Neither however are actual Harley dealers.

Initial reaction is good move for Harley.  MoCo will provide the "brand" & will get a vendor to supply the product.  Or maybe they could buy part of Miller/Coors, after all corporate is local.  Can see a lot of business opportunities, other marketing venues that could open up as sponsorships for them.  Depends on the direction they take it.  At the venues - Bikeweek is just around the corner - HD stores are already renting space to drink vendors.  A natural fit, should be very interesting.  :2vrolijk_21:

Craft beer is already an over priced semi-commodity.  Margins should be good, customers are accustomed to paying higher prices for craft beer already.

Market was down earlier, is up a bit now & so is HD.  Just another Mr. Toad's Wild Ride of a week for stocks probably.

Not the first time a Harley labeled beer was brought to market, I think it was actually relabeled Miller beer. Didn't HD try something similar with the Harley Davidson cafe?  It was sort of a Hard Rock cafe with motorcycle stuff hanging on the walls, I remember one in Vegas, and one in New York City, but I have no idea if those are still around.

Most of the cans were recalled for being out of round,  and you couldn't remove the caps from the bottles without breaking the glass.  But they look great in the man cave, right next to the Kool Aid.
