Dear Brothers.
I'm European. I have colleagues who went to Afghanistan. I lived in America, and I love Americans. I met Ala Bashir, Saddam's personal doctor. He struck me as a good person. Things are complex. I read Scott Ritter's book when it came out. He turned out to be right about some things, but who could be sure then? Political corrrectness is to misuse hindsight, to provoke nobody, to reformulate consensus for your own benefit. Political correctness is not leadership.
For a century, America has been fighting for us all, fencing off the threats from the dark corners of the world. Most of these fights we have thanked you for, we living in this terribly complex continent carrying the most of the World's sins on our shoulders.
I cannot say what is right in the Middle east. Conflict has been raging there for 3000 years, and cannot be easily resolved.
To me, the main enemy is religion. Religion combined with illiteracy and unemployment. Democracy cannot be imposed on people who expect medieval jurisdiction. The whole thing has to take some time.
I sincerely hope I have not hurt anybody with my words. You all seem like nice people, and your country is still the light for many of us.
And: Lest never forget: You build the bike that makes our day - every day!
