As a California LEO I can carry nationwide, which I do. Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6. And I don't have just one, I have five. 1911 forever.

I only have 4 1911's... but will be adding to the collection soon...

Feel the most comfortable with my FN5.7

I love my FN 5.7, great gun no recoil, light and accurate.

I however would never use it for Carry or Self Defense.  With the highest mussel velocity of any pistol, it will travel way to far, go right through people and keep going.

I prefer my XD .40, or my Kimber Ultra 45 acp or my Stinger 45 acp.  More knock down and less likely to continue thru the person into some one or some thing else.

I bought this nice little Sig P938 Blackwood with an extra capacity mag a few months ago. Bought its little brother the P238 Blackwood .380 ACP for my wife, too. New guns in a package deal for a really good price.

They are SAO mini (micro?) 1911s, both with ambi safeties. I carry this little beauty concealed in a Tommy Theis horsehide IWB holster, and it shoots really well. Weighs about HALF of what the big S&W Chief's Special .40 I used to carry does, and it fits my hand perfectly. Sometimes I forget I'm even carrying it.

The .40 cal lives on my nightstand now...

My wife and I learned to shoot 1911's in the Navy.  We are both retired Navy, and we both really like the 1911's.  She is very accurate with the 1911's and shocks many men at the range.

You've got some pretty cool 1911's! I only have one. It's a Kimber SIS 5" with rail.

With the right ammo, (frangible or hp) That 5.7 penetrates LESS than a 357, 9mm, 10mm, 40 or 45 (all with hollowpoints) be it in drywall OR flesh

As far as highest muzzle velocity goes, There are actually MANY pistol cartridges faster than the 5.7. 224 boz and its other off shoots as well as the 5 or 6 offshoots of the 45/223 and then you have the dillon cartridges and even the 357 sig with the frangible 55 grain rounds at 2100fps out of a 5.3" glock barrel!

NOTHING stops bad guys like any frangible bullet over 1100 fps out of 38,9mm,40,10mm or 45, a 5.56 hp over 2300fps (8 inch barreled ar anyone?) or a 45 185+p golden sabre @1100 fps+.... Aw heck just carry a surbu 12 ga with 2 3/4 00buck!

Look at this video between a Fn5.7 and a 45acp......it may not be a real world example since it uses clay....but it is a head to head comparison using the same material...

.40 glock 23 mostly in a shoulder rig. I also have a model 85 Taurus .38 spl by ankle or pocket carry. Permitted in Ca,OR, non res Utah 31 state carry.
If I run across the law I always tell Em I'm permitted and armed! I have always been treated with respect by LEO's
Fav Ammo is the hornedy critical duty JHP.

Carry a Walther PPK, home Beretta 92FS, bike - holster inside and mounted to the saddlebag. Also have a lockable safe that I can mount inside the saddlebag.
