Title: Anyone ever used Keyboard motorcycle shipping to transport bikes?
Post by: sawyerghost on November 12, 2009, 12:58:19 PM
Anyone ever used www.keyboardmotorcycleshipping.com to transport their bikes?
They are based out of Elizabethtown KY. 50 miles or so from us.
8-10 of us are wanting to transport our bikes to California from the midwest, fly out, and plan our 2-week trip traveling some great sights, then back to Indiana. We are planning this trip in August/Sept. 2010.
I have visited with them yesterday, and they quoated $300.00 per bike.
Seemes reasonable, but we are just starting the process.

Thanks for your response, and thoughts!

Jorge,

I used Keyboard - for shipping from Charlotte to N. Illinois - I paid approx. $500.00 - which was the best rate I could find.

If I can ask a related shipping question....

To where did others ship their bikes?  I know Neal and Steve used Roger in Bellingham...but what if you did not have a POC at the destination?  Do you use a Harley Dealer?

I am still considering shipping our Bike (and Bushtec) to Vegas for the SW GTG.  We would then fly in on Saturday, spend two nights there before moving on to Pala.

/Bill

Keyboard caters to cycles...  They have steel framed skids they secure the bikes to.  They arrived on time - delivered on time - no hassle - competitive price....

Keyboard only hauls motorcycles and pianos.....both require a lot of TLC. :2vrolijk_21:  You can see in the photo that Hoist posted that with that type of palloting, nothings going to bang into your bike.

Jon and I shipped our bikes from HD of Sacramento to the dealership in Atlanta, Ga.  The Service Manager said that he'd seen a lot of bikes shipped but none as well protected and cared for as Keyboard and he'd never even heard of them before. :2vrolijk_21:  That was a totally unbiased opinion of somebody that had seen a lot of bikes shipped.

Yes Bill, you can ship to the dealership.  Just give them a call to set it up.  I usually try to throw em a bone......oil change or bike wash or something besides just the tip.

These guys have been doing it for a LONG time. I grew up about 25 miles from them and had a couple of friends that leased/hauled for them over the years. They try hard to please. I am more picky than anyone I know and I would let them haul mine.

To those who are considering using Keyboard Shipping I just use them to ship a bike from Philadelphia to West Palm Beach and their service was excellent.  My bike arrive on time with no dents or scratches and they were excellent to deal with I would not hesitate to use them again.  The price was about $600 which I found to be about the going rate. I’ve used haul bikes before and their service was less than stellar keyboard will now be my go to for all my bike shipping

This is nice to know, it creates another option.

I used Haul-Bikes once before and did have an excellent experience, but competition is good.

Keyboard has been my prefered choice for bike shipping for buys or sells for many years now.

No disappointments ever.
