04 removable tour pack antenna
« on: June 18, 2007, 07:39:32 PM »

I have the  King tour pack for my 04 B & B. I want to hook up the antenna on the tour pack so it is removable when I remove the tour pack

I ordered parts   76219-00  adapter assembly
                        76229-00 cable antenna

problem is the adapter does not match what is on the bike

What other parts do I need?

Brian,
You'll need the - Antenna Relocation Kit - AM/FM PN #76326-00A. Not sure what the part list breakdown is because I had this installed on the bike when I purchased before delivery and didn't get the sheet.

Those 2 parts are from that kit.

I thought I read somewhere that you did not need all the parts from the kit, and what you needed you could buy them separate.

Are one of the parts you have this one? This piece screws on in place of the antenna when you remove it, and the cable going to tourpack screws into top of this adapter.

That is part #76219-00 and I have it.

Problem it does not screw onto my antenna threads that are there now. My antenna threads are smaller than the ones on the adapter.

I think I might know what the problem is. :idea3: In the picture below you will see arrows pointing to two nuts if you loosen these you should be able to get more of the larger size threads to stick up on the top side so they will catch hold on the adapter that you have and I have in picture in previous thread. You will probably have to take the cable loose from bottom to get this done.

Brian,

I just use a stubby rubber antenna, fold it under the tour pak when the box is mounted. This way it is one less thing to connect - disconnect with the box.

Plus, after being folded under the tourpak for awhile it looks like a "hog's tail" when I pull the tourpac off for a day or two  :2vrolijk_21:

In the kit, there is another bracket that lowers the mount. I ordered it today. I did not order the whole kit because I had many of the parts that come in the kit already. For the Nelson trip I just took those parts off the bracket and hook them up without the bracket. Tie strapped them to the tour pack bars. Remember...only temporary!

I have the parts in hand, I just don't have the bike in hand till Friday. As for now the bracket is not being used. I unhooked the wire from the bracket and put them together, and zip tied them to the strut. Will install things correct when we get home from Nelson.
