Progressive 440s Preference
« on: March 09, 2005, 10:20:04 AM »

I'm sold on getting progressive 440s due to earlier threads, but am curious if I should go with the heavy duty or standard (under what conditions is one better than the other) and ...12" or 12.5".  What do you use?  Thanks in advance for the feedback.

std 12.5".  I weigh 190# and at 3 turns the ride height is identical to the std air shocks at 10psi when I am seated on the bike.
If you are 200# or less and don't plan to have a passenger a lot, progressive recommends the std springs.

Here's hoping she's talking smack... [smiley=argue.gif] .....just ordered the 12" Standards today, tired of dealing with air pumps, bottoming out, etc.  We'll see.

Suspension Minds
(words & music by Mark James)
We're caught in a trap
I can't walk out
Because I love you too much baby

Why can't you see
What you're doing to me
When you don't believe a word I say?

We can't go on together
With suspension minds
And we can't build our dreams
On suspension minds

So, if an old friend I know
Drops by to say hello
Would I still see a 440 suspension in your eyes?

Here we go again
Asking where I've been
You can't see these tears are real
I'm crying

We can't go on together
With suspension minds
And be can't build our dreams
On suspension minds

Oh let our love survive
Or dry the tears from your eyes
Let's don't let a good thing die

When honey, you know
I've never lied to you
Mmm yeah, yeah

burp.

I just put mine on yesterday, hopefully my wife will notice a big difference, after shelling out another $540 on a bike that "has everything I would ever want already on it" my reputation with her is on the line here. one note although the installation is very easy 10 min. make sure you bleed the air out of the old shocks before disconnecting the air line. There is oil in the line,
according to the list that my wife is keeping new shocks=$540 new jacket to replace oil stained one = $100  [smiley=oops.gif]

I hope you didn't pay $540 for the shocks, I got my 440's for $380 from Wally's.
