Help Please w/ 05 SEEG OEM Seat
« on: August 17, 2007, 11:22:14 PM »

Hey people, I need a picture of the original seat bracket under the seat. I changed my seat out with a Corbin Classic Solo a couple of years ago and I can't remember what the bracket I replaced looked like. I have it in a storage box along with a million other pieces and parts, I just can't remember which one it was. I recently bought a Corbin Dual heated and need to change out the Corbin Solo bracket w/ sharp post to the original. The only directions that came with the new seat are for hooking up the heating harness and when I went to install the seat I found the pointy (technical term) post interfered with the dual seat pan. Called customer service at Corbin, the young lady told me just to push down really hard on the seat; I hung up on her.
I would greatly appreciate a picture for my feeble old brain. Thanks guys.

Mark, unless I'm misreading something you don't need what you're looking for.

The bracket beneath the stock seat was for the stock backrest.  It's a square girder-ish looking kind of thing.  But is only for the backrest.  The Corbin dual tour seat will only use the tongue in the front and the hold down screw in the rear.  Those are the only mounting/holding points.  Any other bracketry (including the solo seat's bracket) will only be obstruction.

You aren't going to believe this one (or maybe you will). I just went to put the old parts box back up on the shelf beside the original seat, there taped to the bottom of the seat was the bracket and screws. Seems I did something smart when I took it off, so unlike me I never thought of looking there. :o
Thanks for the help though guys.

MJ, that was a solution that required no work, no tools and no parts.  Hell, I'm gifted when that's all that's needed  :huepfenlol2: .
