I really love my Banana. I bought it new in May of 2005 and have loved riding it ever since.

My wife and I went to the dealer to buy an Ultra and she picked out the Banana and was trying
to talk me into getting it. (obviously I have the best wife in the world!). Needless to say she did
not have to twist my arm much.

I like everyone else have spent many thousands of dollars on mods which include custom 21"
front wheel and 18" rear, custom front fender painted the way the MoCo should have done it.
Corbin, exhaust, intake, 575 bars, Hog Tunes 6 speaker system and many more accessories.
Lots of extra chrome.

I too have had the dredded lifter issue only 20 miles after it was at the dealer to have the cam
shoes checked.....Coincidence???? I don't think so. Anyway I had them install the Screamin Eagle
update kit. and installed a set of 257 cams. I went with S&S lifters this time.

Bottom line is I love my bike. I keep telling myself (after riding a CVO RG) that my next bike will
be a Road Glide. I guess time will tell.....

Ken,

All you have to do is ask round here this place is like Ancestary.com :)    The SEEGS were pretty much the model for the SESG.    The important things to know are 12" shocks, 04 chrome did peel a lot, 05 came with chopped tour packs, and vented lowers as said above and 05's had some issues with valve seals leaking, beyond that Orange/Black = Pumpkin, Cobalt/Black = Huckleberries and Pumpkins are the fastestest of them all.

Thanks!

Not surprised that the  :pumpkin: are the "fastestest"... After all, THEY ARE ORANGE!!!

The SEEGs also had the most reliable motor to come out of the MoCo.....just a proven workhorse.  Not saying they didn't have any issues....the compensator was one of them.  Just a whole lot less issues trying to get the HP and TQ up to a reasonable number.

It seemed like we could just beat the hell out of those motors and still feel confident and safe doing a cross country ride.  That motor in an 09 and up touring chassis with the ABS brakes would be the ticket.  I mean the CVO 103" not the 103" that they're making today.

'04's no TP (I added a detachable KTP), lowers no vents
'05's Chopped TP, lowers w/vents

Almost enough of difference that I'm surprised there wasn't a different name besides the identifier - CSE and CSE II

I went to buy a Night Train -she said - look at that bike over there  :2vrolijk_21: That was March 05.

I still like it too. As much as I'd like another bike, this one is staying.

Wasn't that all the TC's up until around May of that year?

I want to see pics of your beautiful  :bananarock: too, Mark. You had sent me a couple of pics of the beautiful front end work with the fender awhile back... but pics of the entire bike would be very nice.

You should do your own pics thread in the SEEG section...

I have never owned a CVO 103, JC... but I have read that they were the best Twin Cam engine ever made, and run like a freight train. Not the same as the 103 today... and a lot better than the 110.

My 110 runs solid SO FAR... but it only has 14K miles, and I've replaced a LOT of parts on it with better aftermarket ones, before the OEM parts had time to fail. We'll see about its reliability down the road.
