Welcome to the forum.

How do you like your corbin seat?

You should add another shot of your bike so I can see how the big shots look.

I like the Aux lights, did that require a mod of the windshield lowers?

now, I hate to ask this question after spending $400 last August for the LED headlight which I really enjoy, but that looks like a larger headlight than what comes stock on the convertible.  but the unit appears to fit inside the fairing.  what the heck??  Do tell........as they say in the south.   Pork.

Thank You !

Corbin seat is amazing compare to original HD seat. I had always pain problem with my back during ride. New seat is aprox 2 inch higher and riding possition is much more comfortable now. Corbin seat is little bit harder.

Today I installed on the bike  even original fender pillion with little bit more force :)

Sorry for my English !

Where did you buy the rear guards?

Rear Guard is standard Softail family, it was necessary to made simple small metal adapter to mount it in my SOFTAIL CVO.

Adapter was made by guys in HD service SLOVAKIA.

As far as I remember, Aux lights are from HD Road King as well as Head Lamp. Head lamp is oversailing little bit to the front.

It was necessary to made some small adapter on the windshield mounting system.

Your English is fine.  You should try to read my Slovakian!!
Now you have my interest in the saddlebag crashbars.  Could you reveal what the adapter looks like?  My wife's safety is very important to me but my only thought is a complete cut and weld and rechrome job.   Pork.

Yes I did...I just had to uninstall original leather belt from the fender pillion. Than I used nuts form tho original HD seat to fixed rear mounting kit of the Corbin seat.  Than it was possible to mount original HD fender pillion without big problem.

Headlight is 7 inch diameter and as well as holder , both are from Road King as far as I remember.
I'm not 100% sure, guys from HD service made it.
I'm 100% sure there is no special adapter to mount it.
All the change was done during one hour.
Headlamp is moved little bit  to the front of the bike compare to the original 5 inch CVO headlamp.

I´m very sorry guys I wrote wrong info regarding main and auxilliary lamps.

Today I asked guys from HD Bratislava and they explain me that :

Head lamp is from FatBoy

Auxilliary lamps are from Softail.

Holders for auxilliary lamps are from PanHead.

For me Corbin Seat is much better choice compare to original HD seat.

Corbin seat :
1. Little bit harder
2. Aprox 2 inch cruder, means You are sitting 2inch higher
3. Shape of the Corbin seat is much more comfortable, no pain of my back anymore.
4. Backrest is genial.
5. Much better riding and handlbar possition

In my opinion very good investment.

For me Corbin Seat is much better choice compare to original HD seat.

Corbin seat :
1. Little bit harder
2. Aprox 2 inch cruder, means You are sitting 2inch higher
3. Shape of the Corbin seat is much more comfortable, no pain of my back anymore.
4. Backrest is genial.
5. Much better riding and handlbar possition

In my opinion very good investment.

Thanks for the feedback  :2vrolijk_21:
I have been looking for an aftermarket seat for a while and the Corbin seems to be the only one out there for the Convertible!
Looks like ill have to give it a try!

Got my rear bag guards on without an adapter.  They turned them upside down and put the right on the left and vice versa.

Mrs. C:  Seriously????????  are you kidding all of us????
You're saying you have a '12 stock convertible, and you took stock softail saddlebag guards, turned them upside down and backwards from the original instructions, and they fit perfectly????   If you say  "yes", I am all over that!!!   Pork.

On close observation, they certainly "look" like they are installed correctly.  Maybe I am not seeing what I should be seeing.

Pork!  As per HD tech, they are indeed upside down and on opposite sides.  They work for me and look great!  I had printed off the pictures above and he said right away that his way should work.  I just happily paid the man :-)

But you're right!  They do look the same...but definately there is no adaptor used.

Absolutely is, Mrs. C.  I am just flabergasted.  I have bought that same set in the past and they fit well on one end but the other didn't line up.  That way on both sides.  Could not see where they could be interchanged because of the way they were angled.  but my wife's safety means enough to me that I will go back and revisit it again.  Thankyou.     Pork.

Mrs. C, could you possibly take a little better closeup of where the bottom end is connected to the frame?   that might be helpful to me.  and others.    thankyou.  Pork.  How did your monthlong trip down thru Washington turn out?

Tri-cities??  Where is that?

We are dropping down off Vancouver Island to Port Angeles, then over to Forks and down to Hwy 101 to Crater Lake.  Then up to Bend OR for a rally.  Haven't decided how we are coming home.

verrrrry doubtful.  Lots of unforeseen expenses this year.  I'm happy with this bike.  and the gps can be removed and put in your car to get you out of Houston at 10 at night when the airline cancels your flight and says rent a car and good luck getting 300 more miles to Louisiana..........did I say at night???   and when we came upon an accident that closed 4 lanes of traffic, I just took the exit ramp and paralled the backup for about 10 miles til it brought us up in front of the backup and we had smooth sailing.  Now why would I want to trade this jewel off???   Pork.

As to the taller 21" windshield......as the new one does not appear to have the same curve at the top like the stock one does, did that cut down on the glare at night from the speedometer?  I'm 5'1" and the top of the stock windshield is right in my line of sight and then add in the red glare line running about an inch down from the top and I am incredibly uncomfortable at night even with my upgraded head lamp.  Thanks!  Tracy
