Last December my cousin went down, we believe he was a victim of a hit and run. He sustained major injuries, lost his right leg, has minimal use of his right arm, broke some vertebrae in his neck and now wears a collar. He exhausted all his coverage so his daughter and sister have started a go fund me campaign. I visit him regularly and help with medical appointments. I have taken on selling his used and take off stock bike parts.
This morning I had a buyer for a windshield, his take off stock shocks and factory service manual. I chatted with the buyer for a bit. He asked about my cousin and I explained all of the above. Then he placed his hand over the windshield and shocks and said he wasn't going to install them. I asked why, and he said "jinxed parts". I told him I didn't believe in that. And here's the thing, they were take off parts that were NOT on the bike at the time of the accident.
Are you superstitious? Would you not install good used or take off parts if you knew they came from a wrecked bike? If so, how do wrecking yards and junk yards stay in business?
Now pardon me while I turn myself around clockwise three time and toss salt over my right shoulder,....LOL!!!

No, I've bought plenty of used parts from motorcycle recycle yards - bikes that were shown in post-accident condition. As long as they did not get damaged in the wreck I don't have any problem reusing them whatsoever.

Absolutely no concern at all using parts taken from an accident bike... Either formerly taken or directly from damaged bike as long as the parts being sold are not damaged.
Really why would anyone have a concern? After all, the parts were NOT the cause of the accident.

Am I superstitious? Yes. Would I not use bike parts? Yes, I would use bike parts. Even if I had to wash the blood off the chrome. So everyone has different lines not to cross.

I do believe in karma. Given that situation, I would hope that would buy the parts, but would definitely pay more than the asking price.

No problem using take off parts or parts from a wrecked vehicle. Even Stevie Wonder could see what Superstition does to people.

That guy is an idiot. There are always people who take things way too far, or never grow beyond what they hear as kids, and he's one. Probably avoids stepping on cracks in the sidewalk.
