Title: High Speed Wobble?
Post by: Jock on December 29, 2005, 09:28:24 PM
And I thought it might only be on one CVO bike...on the V-Rod, I obtain a high speed wobble for a brief period of time...between 105-110, then after that smooth...Anyone else?

Just something I need to become a custom too..besides, I do not stay in that area for long...

As a contrast, on the custom at 110mph + and the stretch, you have a challenge...at 120+ your legs and arms feels behind you...

DAMN!!!!! I hope not. I haven't had mine up to that speed as of yet. Check tire pressures and head bearing.

Jock I am jealous. It has been to cold and the weather has been chity for a while. The night I rode the bike there was patches of ice on the road. It was fun but maybe on New Years day I can get it out. The weather will be sunny and clear with temps in the high 40's.

We have been blessed with some great weather the past two weeks...today's high was in the upper 60's...I think it's that way tomorrow too.

I have had the past 10 days off and between the three bikes logged over 1,300 miles just around the hood.

Your day will come and when it does...ENJOY...

Day arrived yesterday. It was cold, I took the windshield off and went for a ride. I really am starting to like this bike. I can't wait for the pipes and the PC to arrive.

105-110 mph vibe has got to be a loose nut

Just out of curiosity, what gear and what rpms are you at in that range?  I've only had her at 115 on the newly paved part of I-20 which was straight or nearly straight.  Didn't notice anything, but would NOT like to feel that going through a curve in North Georgia or Tennessee!

At what RPM range do you typically ride in?  Jock's in Savannah and Kickstand is in Florida.  Have either one of you rode the Vrod on mountain or twisting roads?  I don't want to kill her!  She was screaming on the way to Lake Weiss at 70 mph in 2nd, but wasn't close to redlining and she handled so much better in 2nd than 3rd!!!

I think I have determined it is more of my riding position at that speed.  After adjusting my position on several high speed rides, the wobble became much less or non-existent.

It's All Good...
