Ed,
Nice job.  I ordered my PCIII from Fuel Moto also,  and couldn't believe the performance improvement.  Jamie up there really knows how to load those things......

Enjoy the ride...

TC,
No question, that was the longest part of the install, just trying to make room without damaging anything. The factory connectors are held in place with holders molded into the side of the battery box. I hated to move them because they were placed in there just so, but the PC needed to be in there too. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Thanks,
Ed

Yea, Ed...if you ever install a garage door transmitter on the rod, the transmitter has to go under the ECM wiring harness at the back end of the air box, then run the wire bundle up the left upper frame member, into the left side cover.  Ground to the batter, but the other three wires have to be spliced into the wiring harness coming from the headlight circuit with the supplied butt splices...there is NO room to do all that, and I sure hated to cut wires, but there was no option.  I taped everything up well after the splicing...I've put connectors on a million times, but always like to put a piece of tape on to seal the open ends.  It's not purdy, but works.  Forget about putting the harness connectors back in the slots on the box....I said many Hail Mary's while attempting that, plus a beer, then finally just wrapped it all up with a couple of wire ties and arranged it back in there as neatly as possible and put the lid back on.

Of course, I'm not a trained professional like you, with all the fancy dancy wire tie cutters and chit...a pair of dikes, a crimping tool, and a stripper is all I have to work with... :'(

Ok....ya'll take that one and run with it.... ;)

ED I INSTALLED V&H PWR SHOTS WITH THE V&H FUEL PAK ON WIFEYS VR AND "TIGHT" WAS NOT THE WORD. I HAD TO MODIFY THE TOP AIR BOX COVER TO GET IT BACK ON. INSTALING THE SIDE COVER WAS ALSO A TRICK AS I HAD TO TWEEK THE MOUNTING TABS A BIT TO GET IT ON. I LOVE THE CHALLENGE OF WRENCHING AND MAKING MODS ON THIS BIKE. [smiley=drink.gif]

G.O.,
It is a fun bike to work on, just trying to come up with ways of hiding things. Did you get "The V" (showing no ownership) dyno tuned?

Dave,

It's a low tech tool, but the tension is adjustable and it cut's the ends clean so that you don't rip the backs of your hands apart next time you're working near them. I use it a lot in control cabinets and electrical panels.
