Thankfully the story has already broken so the pressure is off. But still want to show off what I brought home today.
Found out about this bike about 10:00 this morning. It was only an hour from my home. Went after it this afternoon and have it home here tonight.
It's just short of bone stock. Owner had put true duals on it a long time ago, Stage 1 air cleaner and DL, the highway pegs and passenger footboards can be seen in the photos, a stubby antenna and I guess not much else.
Everything that would have been with the bike new is supplied with it now. Liners, that cool bike cover, both backrests, everything. 20k miles. Sounds good. Looks real good. Looks to have been well taken care of during its life. No deficiencies of any consequence. It will clean up very very nice. And it's red/red/red.
I've been interested in one of these for a long time. Just never found the right bike at the right price. Finally scored. Close to home so no cartage costs or handling worries. I even sold a vehicle recently so won't have to pay sales tax on this purchase. Was just the perfect storm of a bike acquisition.
Here are a few (several) photos. Not cleaned up. Disregard the missing screws in the windshield. I pushed a couple of the grommets in when attempting to put the windshield back on (it had to come off to go in the trailer). Hope it and the red bike get along.
