Windshield Difference Questions
« on: March 10, 2008, 08:00:57 PM »

I obviously don't know enough about these bikes.  At least one version of the paper P&A catalog gives the fitment for this as 98-08.  The online accessory listing gives fitment of 04 and later.

What changed?  Which data source is correct?  Part is # 58519-07.

They changed the angle of how the fairing mounts in '04, but nothing about how the windshield mounts.  Should be good to go with that part number on the '00, but might wanna wait for Chip to chime in since he's got one (presumably that same part number) on his bike.

I'm chiming!
Brian is right!
Hows that Brian?
I have the chrome trim piece on mine also.
They say it doesn't fit.
They were wrong! (who da hell is they anyway?)
Tell him Brian, he might as well bite the big one and order the clearview (mine is a 14, think Brian's is also)
Order today and should have it by Maggie Valley in September.
My 14 is perfect even though the doc said I shrunk an inch. (in height only)

Knew they'd changed the angle of the fairing mount as that's when the swoosh got screwed up (and stayed so for so long).  Have no clue about windshield mount differences though.  There might actually be something though.  Just hit Kuryakyn's website to see what they offered in a comparable product.  Their fitment guides shows a windshield trim but with different part numbers for the earlier and later years.

Goofy stuff.  Have found all the fitment guides for windshields themselves cross that year boundary without notice.  So if the windshields are the same I was guessing the trim had to be also.  Installed is the best barometer for fitment though (you didn't put it on with a big hammer did you?).
