Gas Fumes
« on: October 20, 2005, 08:29:36 PM »

Is it normal to smell gas fumes coming from my 01 Screaming Eagle Road Glide 30  minutes after parking the bike in my garage and closing all the garage doors?   I can't find any reference to the cause when I search my service manual.

Luther, I usually try to fill my gas tank before putting the scooter in the garage and if it's topped off too full, I'll experience the same thing you describe, but only under this circumstance.    spyder

GRC is right on, as usual  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] On my RG, it would literally pssss all over the place when filled if you did it right up to the top and the scooter was on the kick stand. Sitting it upright seemed to be just the trick to send the benzine flowing out the overflow and onto the cement. Just don't park too close to a gas water heater when full.  [smiley=oops.gif]
