I've been emailing back and forth with a sales guy at Milwaukee Baggers about these tips and all he's been able to tell me is:

"Yes we have boom cans, yes they fit 09 you do not have to do mods to you bike"
"Sizes are on the website, and you take off your old ones and put on new ones, can't help on sounds"

IMO they don't sound all that good until they are hooked up to true duals, than they sound good. :2vrolijk_21:

I thought about those too, but was worried about it centering in the cutouts. SERG mufflers are already not centered on ALL the ones that I've seen both in person and from everyone's pictures here so I didn't think it would work out. They do look nice though...

yep, my right side stock 09 SERG tip is straight but the left is a little off.

My concern with these tips is whether they will affect the performance of the otherwise stock motor.  I don't want to change out the air cleaner and PCM just yet 'cause I've only got 1000 miles on it so far.  I can't get an answer from the salesman on this unfortunately.

I looked at them too, but walked away for the same reasons.  I couldn't find a sound file, didn't know if they would install straight, etc...   I still think they would look cool as hell though.   :coolblue:

I guess I like to look, I've only seen one set installed, & they were WAY to loud. at least for me, you could hear them 4 blocks away.

They would only be loud if the baffles were out of them. Than they are "get arrested loud". Baffled they are pretty docile.

I never tell the wife about new parts.  Unless it's something I know she will notice.  Then I just get her something new for her bike, and all is good.

OK Today I installed the Vance & Hines Power duals to go with my Boom Cans (apparently now made by BUB)

They worked awesome with the factory pipes no remap required!!

Here is a link to a video of them without the CAT

If you select my other videos there is one with these slip ons and the factory pipes.

I noticed the boom cans come either with a rolled slant cut or just a straight cut. I like the look of the rolled slant cut better. Asmith has the ones I like. Where did you get them?

Actually to my knowledge they do not. Drag Specialties used to make them but stopped in the 90's

I had a hard time finding them my dealer ordered them from http://www.milwaukeebagger.com and their literature was in the box they shipped in. However when you open the package the install instructions are from "BUB". Perhaps they took over when Drag stopped?

I am under the impression those are sample pictures he took in his travels as he hadn't purchased any at the time he started the post.

I too like the finished rolled look if someone still made them???

Very awesome sound , it seems to me that the V&H powerduals sound is deeper with a better rumble than with the factory pipe , great .
The best sound i have heard , really top of the top , reeeespect  :2vrolijk_21:
Did you made a dyno-tuning at the bike or is it still stock ?

Nothing changed tuning wise except adding the Exhaust. I do plan to add cams and the SEST in the future. Will Dyno after the cams are installed. :coolblue:

A couple things I'd like ask.

Have you thought about getting some HiTemp flat black paint and paint the inside of the Boom Can tips?  I think that would make them kind of just look big and dark, you wouldn't see the inside at all.

Don't get me wrong, they look great and do fill up the holes a lot better than the 4" stock mufflers, or any of the slipons for that matter.  But I see that they are not centered in the opening.  That's a problem with the setup as MOCO designed it.  There's no side to side adjustment and with a slant cut you cannot rotate the mufflers inward to move the mufflers to the center.

Still a great looking bike.

 :2vrolijk_21:  :2vrolijk_21:  :2vrolijk_21:

Sorry, didn't see the OTHER Boom Can muffler thread below before I offer the flat black paint on the inside.  Sorry for the redundancy.   :(  :(  :(

No biggie!

The offset is a MOCO design flaw even the factory mufflers offset to the outside, the brackets are welded in the wrong locations for this bike.

Apparently to much trouble to build it right?

Anyway I am making my own brackets that will allow lateral adjustment to locate them in the center of the openings properly

Best looking setup I have seen. I am going to order a set of Boom Cans and the VH Power Duals. I have been sitting on the fence on this setup but after seeing and hearing it I am sold.

Nice work.

Anyway I am making my own brackets that will allow lateral adjustment to locate them in the center of the openings properly

That is what I had to do to get my exhaust centered.

I believe that's correct they are also removable with 3 retaining bolts. I emailed BUB to see what sizes they offer?

side by side they sound the same as my stock cans with 2" fullsacs and no cat. the boom cans look mutch better, but for 4-500, I want more rumble, I'd like to hear them with the largest baffle possible.

Yeah, they flow a lot of air and equally from both pipes. This I attribute this to the V&H Power Duals crossover under the bike being round and larger than stock.

You definitely hear them. Bub said they do not offer other sizes of baffles but they are removable?

So the leftover stock Drag 2" are probably the largest offered?

I simply elongated the holes in the bracket that slides through the rubber isolator and attaches to the muffler. I'm almost to the outside edge of the bracket. My train of thought is if they broke from being elongated I'd fabricate a new set. Three years later and they are still holding together.

As opposed to removing the baffles completely for more sound how about shortening the stock baffle or increasing the hole size in them?

That's an option if you want to increase the sound volume.

Larry seems to be interested in going that direction.

No mistake I like some sound and am quite satisfied with them as they are. They are not quiet to say the least and border on the edge of needing to be modified to be quieter. IMO
