Hawg Sounds,

Where did you get the silver applique?  I like your's and LarryB's Tour-Pak and was thinking of doing one in the SERG's most awesome color, yellow.  I figure it cannot be that much more expensive then the $1200 love fest the MoCo wants for the color matched SERG's.

Any know how much a primed/unpainted King Tour-Pak runs?

just go to HD website get part number then go to Chicagoharley.com and get price. it's 20%less. Mine cost me $900.00 for everything

Has anyone found, painted, copied, or whatever the eagle graphic from the front fairing of the SERG and applied it to the tour pak?  On the chopped pak, it would look pretty cool.

I just picked up a slightly used King Tour-Pak on eBay for $220. Sure, it needs latches, some minor repair and paint. You'll need to consider the additional parts needed to attach the TP: detachable mount, 4 point docking kit, latches, premium hinges, liner, rack, wiring harness, backrest, etc. I found the cheapest way to go is through Chicago Harley (or other Harley 20% off online discounter). I spent about $850 for parts to mount the TP. Of course, this includes a rack and other upgrades that aren't required mount a TP. Even with a new TP from the MOCO, I still would have had to spend the $ for additional parts, mount, rack, etc. With the cost of the TP, parts and paint, I'll end up around $1000 less than buying new from the MOCO.

I looked at the HD site and did not see any Tour-Pak's that were primed/unpainted.  I guess I would need to order some matching Pearl Yellow too.

Not sure how accurate this is, but I was told by the HD Parts guy that the only way to order a primer tour pak is to order part by part, which would be more costly than ordering a painted pak.  I ordered a vivid black and then had to have it painted silver with my graphics added.  Expensive, but if one wants more than a solid color pak, it's the way to go.  Of course, ebay, etc also provides some nice options if you can find one.

You are correct! Order the cheapest painted one you can find if you're looking to have it painted anyway. Forget the Primer route! ;)
