Corbin seat on my SE FATBOB
« on: November 15, 2008, 02:07:51 PM »

I need a back rest when I ride and the only one I could find was a Corbin touring seat. Also if anyone else is thinking about a seat like this, The HD sissy bar will not fit.

Cowboy, I have to be honest.  The Corbin seat looks out of place.  Maybe its one of those things that has to grow on ya.

Do the heel rests fold up?  Do they drag in turns?  I've installed the Switchblade heel rests and they drag pretty easily when they are down.

When I ride, I like to have comfort and a back rest. The Heel rest and foot rest do fold up and i havnt drag them yet. Also my wife needs a bigger pad in the back so she could ride on it.

Looks good, Cowboy, cleeeeeeen.  you have a p/n on the heel rests in your pix? I cant find them in my catalog.

I'm thinkin reverse mount for mini hiway footing, in front of the pegs, under and out from pedals.

I notice you've got a Garmin GPS.  I'm expecting mine today or tomorrow.  How did you route the wirirng?

I've got a Battery tender and heated suit wired up atm - so I'm starting to worry about clearance for wiring up the GPS -

I let the dealer install the GPS and they went under the tank. Also you can buy a adapter to connect to your battery tender to run the heated suit. Just remove the 5 amp fuse from the tender hardness and replace it with a 15 amp fuse. The adapter cost around $7.00 ( this is what I did so I wouldn't have 2 wires hanging out )

I did the SERT and Dyno, The bike runs great. The pipes are SE slip-on, IF anyone is looking for LOUD pipes do not buy these. But they are alitte bit louder and sound better then the stock POS........  I'm getting to old for loud pipes and thats why I went with the SE..............  The Dealer told me I didnt have to do the SERT with these pipes but I had them do it anyways because I wanted it fine tuned on the dyno.

going with the permanent lockable HD bags on docking pegs. The plan now is a solo seat, locking bags, and either a large detachable rack (i'd have to fab) or if I can make the small HD rack fit (pg 147 / G ). Still doing research on that. The FXDF & SE  about 1/2" wider than stock, I'd prefer bigger bags,, but it IS a FXD, not a bagger.  and they LOCK! Mebbe just stock HD docking plates and HD sissy bar rack w/ stock seat.

Bottom line is a place for a LARGE bag strapped laying down on the seat, NOT stickin straight up strapped to a sissy bar.

will post pics when it's buttoned up

oh, btw, ordered the heel rests, but am going to try to mount forward of the pegs (reversed - left on right etc) to have heel rests forward. I got looooong legs but can't stand "feet way up" h'way pegs.
