Also the two antennas you bought one should have more wire wrap around it than the other one the one with more that would be the CB.
That is if you bought the Harley ones.

Unless you are in the southern hemisphere, then they are reversed.

Pull back the tour pak liner. Should be a coil under there on the C.B. side.

No Coil on "09 They finally did it right and make it a  real ground plane...  ON the 09's.. Bubba was spot on in his earlier post 06-07 with leather tour pack the CB antenna is on the right as you are sitting on the bike. I made an error and said it was on the left, I was standing on my head...Greg

 ;D

Mine was reversed.  Put the CB on the right the Fm on the left and everything is good.  The CB range and voice quality improved.

I use the antennas from J&M. No difference. Makes life easier ;-)

Yes, yes, yes, and yes.  The CB is on the right side.  The side with the air cleaner, the side with the brakes, the side of your bike where your put your right foot on the floorboard, the side without the jiff stand.  I have the Harley shorties, and when they are mounted, I don't see a difference in them from the outside.  I thought they looked the same.
